McElroy isn't even as good as Brooks Bollinger was. But he accomplished the task of getting Sanchez off the field and for that I thank him.
Yes u can develop arm strength. It's called adjusting ur mechanics for most new QBs. just saying it's possible n that u are wrong.
So 7 passes made u think that way? I think McElroy can be decent QB, something Brooks only dreamed of.
McElroy may be nothing more than a short term placeholder. The important thing for the team, is that this brings us one step closer to the end of the Sanchez era.
McElroy has one of the weakest arms I've ever seen on a Jets QB. He makes Chad look like Vinny by comparison. People making the Chad/McElroy comparison need to understand that Chad went in the 1st round of the NFL draft because he led a strong offense at Marshall and that offense stayed strong even when Randy Moss left. People didn't like Chad's arm strength but nobody doubted his accuracy, poise and ability to lead a good offense. McElroy also led a good offense at Alabama but he was a game-manager and nobody thought he was going to be a starting NFL QB. That's why he wound up going in the 7th and could easily have gone undrafted. That little lollipop throw up the seam that was picked off and then nullified by the penalty? That's the arm at work.
I hope that's not the case. They gave Clemens a fair shot after they benched Pennington. I think someone posted in here the McElroy has developed his arm over the past year than how he was last season. And that lollipop throw up the seam was a thrown that way so that Hill can have a jump ball in that situation, a throw that will utilize Hill's size to make the grab.
Yes, you can develop your arm strength. What I said was if you don't have the body, you can't develop it. It was a figure of speech meaning if you don't have the DNA potential, you're not going to be able to develop it at the NFL level. "Body" was code for "DNA." Just saying the starting material has to be enough, physically, for the work to get you there. I have concerns that McElroy is not enough of an NFL body to be able to ultimately do the job over a 16 game season.
They showed a video of Rex consoling Mark in the locker room. He seemed like he was trying to hear it.
React? Of course he is going to be upset. He was booed all game and as soon as McElroy put his helmet on the crowd erupted. The Cardinals might just be a worse team than us, and Sanchez shit the bed against them. Let McElroy start against the Jaguars, and if he fails to succeed, bring Mark back in. It's only fair IMO.
I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but when that play happened I thought it was supposed to be a pass towards the sideline...in fact I thought that INT was made to the left of the hashmarks.
Rex will be a fucking moron if he starts Mark. McElroy is the reason we won. He didn't do anything spectacular, but he didn't throw three fucking interceptions.
Well the game after is on the road so I guess it is plausible however I just don't see the Jets going back to the same old stagnant offense we've seen all year at this point. Even a new stagnant offense is better than that.
