I agree w/you in that there is certainly a PTSD issue w/any witnesses to a shooting. Like many, I've seen some things of this nature that I'd rather forget so I understand your point. But they will have to deal w/it and move on. The girlfriend's mother apparently witnessed this madman kill her daughter. I'm not sure how she will ever recover from that. Killing that woman is an absolute tragedy for her mother and for that baby. Belcher shooting himself in front of the police, Romeo & Scott was essentially the final selfish act of a disturbed killer. If he had not killed himself, he'd be in a jail cell.

This is fucked up and well probably never know the motive. Wonder if they'll cancel the game.

why would they cancel the game??? that would be absurd. on second thought, maybe roger goodell is dumb enough to cancel a game b/c one player kills his girlfriend and then shoots himself to avoid arrest.

You're under-informed (at best) he clearly had mental health issues. If he didn't and this happens to be some vengeance plot I apologize but to act so impulsively would typically indicate an underlying issue.

Twitter: KCPD say the player thanked both men before taking his life, and that Pioli and Crennel did not feel threatened.

Anyone who does that is clearly not in the right state of mind. By which I mean just as much as he could've been an asshole, he was also probably going through a lot of pain. Pray for his family, pray for the Chiefs, and hopefully Pioli and Crennel aren't affected too negatively that's a terrible situation to be in.

oh okay Dr. Freud. You want to excuse this murderer simply because you've magically diagnosed that "had mental health issues". And you say I'm "under-informed"???? :breakdance::breakdance::breakdance::breakdance: Newsflash Dr. Freud: The girl's mother witnessed your hero with "mental health issues" pull out a gun and cowardly shoot her defenseless daughter at point blank range and then jump in his vehicle and drive away. Feel free to keep defending the killer because you think its somehow okay to kill people if some shrink says you have "mental health issues".

lots of girlfriends and wives are killed by their murdering spouses and partners in impulsive acts - that fact doesn't mean the killer is any less of a scumbag.

Yes, I heard he shot the young woman in front of her Mother after I posted. Simply unthinkable for me.

I saw some one else posted that you were being harsh as he had underlying mental health issues. Well, color me a bitch because I dont buy the mental health crap, what he did was pure evilness of heart.

Could he have head mental health issues ? Sure, he could have. That is not a consideration in what he did. I hate it when people try to justify evil.

They would probably cancel the game because the coach and GM of KC watched a player kill himself in front of them. They might cancel it to mourn. Maybe KC players are shaken up that someone they played football alongside did this. There are tons of reasons that this game could be suspended and it would be 100% ok in my book

Newsflash: Regardless of my opinions you're being insensitive about the situation. Think before you type. It's not that hard... You're so quick to pass judgement, calling someone a "scumbag" is just as damaging of an assumption as, say, calling someone "mentally unstable" or "disturbed". Both judge the person's character/behavior (your emotional reaction is just considered more common/mainstream than my point of view, which makes our reactions different NOT one is right one is wrong). I'm not "defending a killer" so cut the crap. :breakdance::breakdance::breakdance: :breakdance: :breakdance:

I see both sides to this. But you have to expect that the people who saw this are shaken. Even if he wasn't violent to them, it must be a terrifying experience. I can't even imagine

There's no reason they can't delay the game out of respect to the organization. Given the NFL's penchant for that weird 2-in-a-row MNF to start the year, put the game on Monday (and move the time of the other MNF game if they have to not sure if there are league rules on 2 MNF games).

There are no good reasons for cancelling the game. one of the worst reasons would be that scott pioli/ romeo crennel are too upset. they can sit it out - they aren't even players. The players themselves will be fine. Life goes on. The game needs to be played in honor of the baby who lost both of her parents today. The NFL and the chiefs and advertisers should contribute to a charitable trust for that baby, donate the game proceeds.

Cancelling the game accomplishes nothing and costs alot of money. They don't cancel NFL games everytime somebody experiences a personal loss or tragedy. cancellation will not and should not happen.

Delaying the game for a day really doesn't accomplish much and it does cost alot of money - but I could see the NFL pushing it out a day. That might happen, but again what would be the point? Better off playing the game as scheduled, a healing moment of silence - donations to victims of domestic violence and a trust to support the baby and suicide prevention. If they want to play it on Monday, thats okay but accomplishes very little.

No sympathy at all for Belcher. the victims are his girlfriend and their child.

Just stop with this nonsense, seriously just stop. It is not passing judgement to call a man a scumbag who just murdered a young mother in front of her mother and if that wasn't enough then drives over and kills himself in front of his own "extended family"

The guy is not only a scumbag but a full blown heartless nut job and coward to boot.

You appear just as ignorant to me as I apparently appear do to you. I'm not quick to judge, and you're jumping to conclusions. Carry on.

I'm not being insensitive at all. I'm quite sensitive towards the mother and daughter of the murdered young woman who this guy shot in cold blood this morning.

Killing defenseless mothers of 3 month old babies = scumbag.
murdering boyfriends who kill their baby mommas = scumbags.

Sorry that you disagree. If he had mental health issues then it was his responsibility to get treatment for those issues and of course it was his responsibility not to kill this poor defenseless young lady. The fact that he did kill her means that he behaved like a scumbag. Who gave him the authority to decide whether that poor young lady should live or die this morning??? Nobody did and using mental issues is just a lame excuse for this jerk's domestic violence. stop making up excuses, wake up & smell the coffee for Christ sakes and condemn violence against women. Men who abuse women = scumbags.

You're incorrectly assuming that one can't be sympathetic to both parties. You're wrong.

Why would I point out that violence against women is bad? No shit. I wasn't the OP. To contribute is to say something that has not been said, why would I rehash that point? For you to assume that I'm not sympathetic towards or saddened by their deaths is ridiculous. And, because we're all going on reports and information here to help inform our conclusions at least partially, he (apparently) had no history of abuse towards his GF (stop making up your own facts).
