Chiefs player commits suicide at team facility. Just saw it on ESPN. They are not saying who the player is until his family is alerted.. He killed his girlfriend first and then went to the facility and killed himself.
I just heard of this on ESPN. I'm stunned. I wonder who it is? This is so sad. The story on Sean Taylor got me the other day, always does, and now this? ugh.
This story is going to blow up, and probably get sickening really quickly. I wonder why at the facility? I wonder what the background is on his situation.
The Title of this thread should be Chiefs Player Commits Homicide, then Kills himself. Javon Belcher Killed his Girlfriend. No different than OJ. The only difference is that Belcher killed himself. Killing yourself afte killing somebody else doesn't make you a fkng hero. Listening the Sirius NFL this morning - those idiots are treating this as a tragedy for the chiefs football family.... WTF??? How about the murder victim and her family ??? If Javon had misfired he'd be locked up for Murder right now.
It looks like he shot his girlfriend, drove to the facility and while some members associated with the Chiefs tried to talk to him, he shot himself. This is from twitter reports, so might not be 100% accurate. Scary.
Domestic violence and murdering the girlfriend and reportedly the mother of his child. If these reports are accurate, it certainly puts a distinctly different spin on the situation. The tragedy is the murder of the lady not the killer offing himself before he was arrested. Espn is treating this as if the killer shooting himself is the tragedy - just because he played football. if he didn't play football it wouldn't even be a news story outside KC.
There are shitty seasons and there is Chiefs 2012 season. What a total cunt btw. I really hope there are no children involved in this mess.
According to Deadspin which is compiling updates from their sources "Update, 11:20 a.m.: Belcher may have committed suicide in front of Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli:" http://deadspin.com/5964841/report-...-chiefs-practice-facility-and-killed-himself-[updating]
I agree with all of what you are saying here and how ESPN is reporting it. However, in my mind it is a tragedy for the Cheifs Team also, but in a very different way than a murderous player killing himself. If it is true that Pioli and Crennell < and heavens knows who else > witnessed this, it is tragic. I'm a nurse and in my younger days I worked in an inner city ER, and the first suicide by gunshot to the head was the most hoffific thing I have ever seen. I can still see the whole scenario in my head and it comes back to me often. So if Crennell and Pioli were trying to talk him down and saw, I cannot imagine what that will do to their heads. I did not wittness the action but saw the aftermath and in a very small way it changed me... but it wasn't some one I knew, it wasn't something I wittnessed..... I can only imagine the effect this will have on them for the rest of their lives. So my prayers are first with the young woman's family, the players family and yes, the Chiefs, specifically Pioli and Crennell.
