I understand that totally. I just never thought Eli was a bad qb, or that the Giants should give up on him. Plus, besides Eli, how many modern day qbs have played poorly for 4+ seasons, only to eventually get better? He's the only example I ever hear anybody use. So every time from now on, if we have a 1st round bust at QB, all we're going to do is accept it, and say "well...eli got better." ???? I just don't want to win 7 or 8 games, to get a mediocre draft slot, and save a pathetic qb's job, because then going forward we'll be suffering with Mark, instead of improving with a new, promising qb. So yes, I would prefer us to lose IF it means Mark getting fired. If we're rolling with him for the next eternity no matter what, then I definitely want us to win. Essentially, I'm just rooting for what I believe is the better long term picture. Also, tomorrow.... all this is out the window. It's the Pats. UGH! I'll NEVER root for that POS franchise EVER. I hope Mark throws 200 TDs tomorrow. Side note: How did you take the lead? I was tied for first, and got one game wrong. The next few people below were 2 points behind. I got the GOTW right, and got the other 3 bonus points. So the most anybody could have gained on me was 2 points. (5 for jackpot) Yet some how I am 1 point behind you. This math doesn't add up.
I'm in no way suggesting that Mark will be like Eli. I hope, but don't really believe it. There was however a great line in one of the threads. Paraphrasing (too lazy to look it up) the point was "If Jets get to 9-7 that means the current management system worked, despite key injuries". My personal problem with Mark is that he stopped growing and my personal last straw was that INT in the red zone against Seattle. He is making this same mistake over and over again. It's 4th season... pigeons learn faster. The main problem is that since they won't put McElroy in, Mark is the best QB available, Rex is not making this up. You're forgetting another point for picking the game correctly. 14 games = 14 pts + 1 pt for GOW + 5 pts for jackpot = 20 pts vs. your 17. Don't worry though, I get a feeling my 1st place will be very short-lived. I don't have a good feel for this week.
That makes perfect sense. I almost feel foolish. haha Well, when the picks are locked, I'll share my picks, because I think this week will catapult me up, or be my true demise. edit: I can't believe you got it! You bastard lol how come you didn't say anything of it? I'd be thrilled.
The pick against the Seahawks was the last straw for me as well. Honestly, by the 3rd quarter in the Miami game, I was done with him, but that was my AHA moment. I'll be rooting for him tonight, but needless to say, I've lost all confidence in him. PS, so far so good this week lol. I picked a TON of upsets.
Well I was a little nervous picking every away team today, but it paid off. RU, did you pick the same?
Wow. You got the Texans right I'm guessing? You'll probably catch me sunday with a few though. I picked the Browns, Bucs, Rams, and few more that I could very well lose.
I wonder where the feature is that shows each weeks picks wins etc. I picked all but 2 games correctly and either stayed or dropped a spot. I don't get that. Could everyone or the majority have picked the same?
yes, Hou was the only correct pick, and even at that one I was convinced at the last moment, had Det at first. I was a stubborn pick away from 0-3.
Yeah I love the rules, but the Jackpot and GOTW can put somebody way up when in reality they've guessed the same amount of games in the season correct.
I got 7 games wrong this week.. soooo I'll be surprised if I keep my lead. Most of the games I had wrong were the flip flop games such as Ravens/Skins, and Cowboys/Bengals.
