This essentially eliminates all known entities for this team. Rex is the best option now and will fall next year when this team sucks again. I don't even blame the guy, he can only coach what players he has. This team has a talent problem for the most part, not a coaching problem. This year is as much Sporano's fault as the previous years were Schotty's.

This franchise sucks because the ownership is awful and the GM isn't a football guy, he is a numbers guy.

I would give Sean Payton anything he wants, let him run the entire offensive side of the ball. Bring in anyone he wants, but keep Rex as the Defensive Coordinator and let him run the entire Defense.

As much as I would love to see Norv as our OC, there is no chance Rex is getting rid of Tony Sparano.

Sean Payton because not just is he a proven quality HC but also because it would symbolize the total shake-up that is needed for this organization.

But pretty sure Rex will be back for another year. Can't kill that decision, but if Tanny and our fking moron of an offensive coordinator are back we may as well give up.

Norv Turner OC rebuild the offense through the draft. I keep Rex as HC. Tannenbaum has got to go though

SF is a consistent winner? What has SF done in the last 5 years that we haven't?

I think RR should stay, if not, I'd love a Cowher or Gruden but no way that happens.

Seeing as Cowher is more likely than not never coming back or only coming back if a spot with the Giants opens up, I'll go with Gruden, and I wouldn't mind if it were Jon or Jay, but I would prefer Jon because I'm sick and tired of rookie head coaches.

This is probably the best scenario I could see. Rex needs a proven offensive guy calling plays not a line coach. The biggest must is getting Tanny out! He can be the numbers guy but stay away from the draft and FA.

I think the Jets would be making a big mistake by firing Rex Ryan. All your key talent got hurt this year. Tannenbaum needs to be shown the door though and any new GM may want their own head coach in place.

That Baltimore passed over Ryan for John Harbaugh is all I need to know about Rex Ryan and that's all I've needed to know since January 2009.

2009 was a great story and I think we all got caught up on a magic carpet ride, but 2010 was a sham and that was shown in 2011. Now the shit has completely hit the fan.

The injury excuse really only works with QB injuries. See 1999, 2003 and 2005 Jets teams for some recent examples. The best defensive player going down can be a major blow as well, but I still don't want to go the excuse route there.

Look at the 2010 Packers. That team lost a ton of guys to IR. They were much more affected by injuries than the 2012 Jets.

I'm sure Rex would seem like a much better head coach if he had Aaron Rogers at QB instead of Mark Sanchez.

who ever the new g.m says.

if he decides rex stays i am all for it.if he decides rex goes and he has a solid vision for this team then so be it.

tired of tanny and the stop gap vets and project picks. get someone in here that can build a consistent winner

"all these people that you mentiion,
yes I know them, they're quite lame,
i had to re-arrange their faces,
and give them all another name..."

Except for Saban who will never come back to the NFL, I hate all those mentioned. It should be someone younger with some vision, someone not on the coaching merry-go-round.
