Here is a question: Would a loss to the Rams create any Coaching or GM moves by Monday? A loss would mean: 1. (3-7) and DEAD LAST in the AFC East 2. Losing to Brian Schottenheimer 3. Losing to Kellen Clemens, Matthew Mulligan and Wayne Hunter. That is just too much to not do anything come Monday for me. A must win is an understatement for this game.
Nothings going to happen before the season ends. As bad as things have gotten, Rex has earned the chance to salvage this.
If the Jets offense puts up 7 or fewer points this week, it's going to be great listening to Rex in the post game presser continue to insist Sanchez gives the team the best chance to win again. He may as well just say, "Look....Tim Tebow will never, EVER start for this team. Stop fucking asking!!"
Let me answer this from a post in another thread- It seems like you are so caught up on the 09 and 10 season to where you are being blinded from this absolute mess that has been on the field the last two years. We are what? 3-9 in our last 12 games? Sanchez is completing around 50% of his passes? Rex is losing this team again, and now is losing his fan base. Tanny's incompetence as a GM in the last 2-3 years has completely screwed us over. He trades multiple players and picks for a single player, which screws our depth. wewantsapp had a great post on this- He guarantees contracts in order to make room for another huge contracts (Pace, Scott, Sanchez). He also let Hunter sit on the roster and get his contract guaranteed meanwhile he was clearly the worst RT in the league. He gave Harris a contract that Patrick Willis should have, gave Holmes a contract Victor Cruz should have, gave Sanchez a contract Matt Ryan should have... see the pattern? He also let holes such as RB, #2 TE, RT, WR ect go unaddressed in FA.
Can andy reid fix sanchez or tebow? He has done it before with worse... We have good defense coaches that would do without rex. Pettine has done a good job with what he has. Slow aging LB's. Young D - line and no revis. We would have to hire an offensive minded coach. But we know rex can lose out and still be our coach next year. Tanny might get demoted because we never cut ties with our executives.
I don't think you remember how bad this defense was without Rex. His coaching staff isn't going to stick around if he gets fired.
Once Mangini got a true NT in Kris Jenkins his defense wasn't that bad. As good as Rex's 09 and 10 units? No. As good as Rex's 11 and 12 units? Yeah.
Is Jenkins coming out of retirement for next season? That guy would make any defense look good. He was as dominant as anyone in the league on the inside. When Rex had Jenkins his defense was dominant. When Mangini had Jenkins his defense was better than suck.
Doubt it. Rams can blow the Jets out by 4 TD & we're still gonna finish this season with Tanny/Rex/Sanchez and they'll be in the same roles next season. Sucks to say but we're just gonna have to sit here & accept that change isn't coming. Hopefully, Rex/Sanchez will turn it around.
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2012/11/jets_links_rex_ryan_praises_je.html Don't worry guys........ "Rex Ryan loved what he saw in Florham Park, "[using] words like 'great' and 'enthusiastic' and 'flying around' to describe practice this week." If Rex thinks they practiced well again, then there can't be anything to worry about.
Ah I guess U all forget that RR & MT contracts expired after the 2013 season. In RR case all WJ has to do is not offer RR a new contract & he becomes a lame duck HC for the 2013 season which is the worse thing that can happen to a HC.
hehe yeah and todd hoffman said he would mine 1000 oz of gold this year... rex needs to shut his mouth and just not even talk at this point. he drives me crazy with just about anything and everything he says these days.
That is fine with me. The Jets have now upped their True Record ® to 62-21 on the year. What happens in the games is just gravy for me. True Record® is defined as W-L-T record in games + (number of enthusiastic practices featuring hard work - lackluster practices)
THE OP forgot to add Robert Turner to the list of ex Jets now a Ram,,,,,,,,,,,and Turned said a day or so ago and I quote,,, " the Jets are the Chicago Cubs of the NFL " ,,,I always liked Turner
Yeah, let's let go of the best coach this franchise has had in a long time. And you guys wonder why we're in a constant state of mediocrity? How about we stick by our coach in this situation?
Rex isn't gona get fired this season no matter what, There won't be anywholesale changes during the season. I honestly belive Tannenbaeum will be back next season also
