Our offense has been shut down more times than the games they see the EZ. No matter what u support, we are not going to win more than 5 games in any case. I may want the Jets to go 3-13, but I will watch all the games, and root for the Jets in every game. If they go 10-6, great. If they go 5-11, I wouldn't be surprised and if they go 3-13, it really doesn't matter once u lose more than 10 games. I want the Jets to win, but I also want them to have a high draft pick to develop the team. Can't have it both ways (unless Mr. Tannenbaum decides to take the quantum leap). Its kinda like 'pick ur poison' at this point.
Like losing out will solve the problem. This team cannot 1. scout 2. coach up 3. devise game plans that maximizes the strength of the personnel. And the owner is a clueless clown that would gladly bring the media circus to the town just for the sake of media coverage. Denver was trying to get rid of Tebow, (I don't think Elway liked him at all in the first place; it's more than clear that he will never win SB as a starting QB anyway. Just, Elway didn't want to deal with the repercussions if he flat out [cut] Tebow.) and he bit on the first chance - that SHOULD tell you what kind of owner he is.
I'd rather get a top 5 pick so we can trade down for hopefully another high 2nd rounder or another 1st rounder, being able to get maybe a RB, an OT and a pass rusher is too good to pass up, we have more holes than Swiss cheese And our team isn't good enough for me to have any confidence that they can win another game.
For the first time in a long time, I do not have a favorite Jet. None of these guys are fun to watch. I thought I was going to love Coples but hes barley seen playing time since the pre-season. The only Jet that I can say I have respect for because of his play(not his dumb mouth) is Cromartie because he has really stepped up. But when you think about it, Why would a QB through to a good cb like Cromartie when you can just pick on guys like Kyle Wilson all day. The jets are not fun to watch anymore.
Play to win the game...that's a guarantee to lose. We need a legit QB and WRs. It's time to say good-bye to Tannenbaum. OH! we also need some OL help!
I'm saying we go 6-10 from here. I'd love for us to make a playoff push but we need some high picks to revamp this team. Getting rid of Tanny and getting some offensive weapons on this team is the only way I see us being a good team next year.
Moot point this year as there really arent any "cant miss" prospects. If there was, I would definitely say lose out. Anyone that says otherwise hasnt been watching the NFL for the past 10 years. You just cant contend year in and year out out without an elite QB. Colts are in the position they are in now because they decided to start Curtis Painter instead of finding a veteran QB. While they probably didnt lose on purpose, they didnt actively try to improve their roster.
The NE "winning culture" is 87% down to the complete fluke pick of a HOF QB, take him out of the equation and most likely Belli wouldn't even still be in NE - there is nothing special about the Pats drafts.
I feel ya man – we are all frustrated. But if we are going to be drastic let’s not “throw games” – let’s start making a change. For example: We got a guy pretending he is a HC. He is not a qualified HC. Fire Rex today and get a new perspective – even if it’s an interim HC. We got a guy pretending to be a starting QB. He is not a starting QB. Bench him and get a new perspective. Even if it’s only a guy that we release at the end of the season. If we are going to tank the season let’s do it by experimenting with new directions.
Like Joe Montana and Tom Brady, eh? Somehow good old Joe slipped to 3rd round. Brady? He was almost Mr. Irrelevant for Patriots. How about Russell Wilson? He was not a 1st round pick, last time I checked. And NFL is literally LITTERED with 1st round bust QBs. That should tell you something. 1. Let's not call Luck a HoFer that Manning is yet. 2. Probably Sanchez sucks big hairy goat balls, but that does not mean your prized first round pick QB prospect will prosper in this offense either. This offense lacks talent and depth up front at OL, WR corp lacks experience (and that turd Tone is lurking out there waiting) and RB corp flat out sucks. With this kind of talent level, Tom Brady will look like Chad Pennington without the brain. 3. If this team learns 1. how to scout and 2. how to coach up, then I might tag along with "tank the season" bandwagon, just for the prospect of trading down and getting multiple picks within top 3 rounds in return. That's all.
I agree with all of this, especially number 3. IMO, unless we clean out the front office and most of the coaching staff, nothing else really matters. Drafting a QB with Tanny as the GM means nothing because he clearly has no idea how to evaluate and surround a QB with talent and a quality coaching staff. I will also never know why Matt Cavanagh is still here. This franchise keeps feeding us this bullshit that they are going to push on and do whatever it takes to win like we are some dumbass group of 3 year olds. Im sick of it. Last year Rex lost the faith of his team... This year he may still have his team, but he's about to lose his fan base. Unless Jarvis Jones or Manti TeO are there, I want to trade back and get a lot of picks, and draft Gio Bernard in the 2nd and a developmental QB in the 2nd or 3rd.
You can say this team sucks all you want but the fact is that this defense is still good. I don't care if they are old and slow, they still keep us in the games. Yes, we need to upgrade personnel, but people are acting like the its the defense that loses us games. The defense almost always keeps us close until the end of the game when they are entirely gassed thanks to all the offensive 3 and outs. This defense would look so much better with even a half decent offense. I'm not ready to let Rex go, no doubt he has room to improve, but we need an offense.
This is the plan. I'm not going to root for them to lose, but I guarantee I won't be pissed at all when they do. Gotta look at the big picture. Now, if Tanny is still around and he's making the pick, that throws a wrench into that plan...
With Rex's envision of a football team, I doubt the offense becomes even average. We dont have the talent and he wont put the emphasis on the offense. Thats his flaw, and its hurting this team.
Jets fans bitch about 12 a little too much. Brady in 2001 and Brady now are miles apart. Their organization help develop him. That's something we lack. In many areas. The Pats do everything better than us. From top to bottom. We have maybe 2-3 players that would start for them. That speaks volumes about us as a organization. I'm actually jealous of they way their run. It would be nice to root for a real franchise. Were just a joke.
Not sure if you've been paying attention or not but 4,000 people a day bring up the fact that Rex ignores that offense. He deserves tons of blame here. He's the fuckin head coach.
Im not bitching about him at all, it just helps when you are trying to develop players and you have a HOF QB helping/throwing to them.
