Did I miss the memo where those yards don't count? You've got two guys that can't make tough passes consistently. One keeps trying and throwing picks, one creates easier passes with his legs. Seems like an easy choice. What am I missing?
how the fuck did this turn into a thread about tebow? we are here to talk about how bad mark sanchez sucks and beg the gods for him to fall in the shower tomorrow and fracture his wrist.
Yeah the ST decided not to try the last couple weeks but the defense (who has ST players on it) decided to play their best game today. Yeah okay. It's funny, you would think that locker room would be fractured but the lack of noise for Tebow is surprising. Nobody calling for Sanchez's head, no rumors, no unnamed sources. Where is the lost lockerroom? It actually seems they are staying strong behind their coach and what he believes. The other thing you guys forget to mention is what happens if a player is doing poorly in practice, more poorly than the starter, and gets put in as starter? What happened to all those guys busting their ass to start and this guy strolls in and gets to start even though he did wrose than than the guy he was replacing in practice?
9 completions 40.9% completions An interception A lost fumble I really can't wait to hear what his defenders are going to say after this...on top of everything else this year. This has nothing to do with Revis, who plays the other side of the ball. To blame it on Holmes is ridiculous. what should you blame Sanchez for? "He led the team to 2 Championship games" was always too generous, and that shit won't fly for much longer.
Never wish for injury. I can't believe people do that. Mark Sanchez sucks, but we are stuck with him and that contract. Also, the team sucks and we have no answers on our team that will change that. There are probably no answers in the draft of FA each other so guess what contract and QB we are stuck with, yep Mark Sanchez.
Because if the opposing defense can tackle those games don't happen otherwise all the bad teams would be doing that garbage, and it doesn't change the fact that his talent with his arm is zero, and he basically prays that the opposing team can't tackle.
And to those who say Tebow doesn't start because of practice time: Let me remind you that Rex said that we had a great practice following the Miami game. Why should I trust what is said/implied about practice?
Who wants to go back?? What happens is, you ride out the rest of this sorry season with Tebow and make it crystal clear to Sanchez that if he wants his job back he better come into camp next season and win it. I don't care if we go 0-7 the rest of the way with Tebow. Or maybe if Tebow completely shits the bed, you see what McElroy can do. Sanchez has had four years of no-consequences coddling and enough is enough. He hasn't EARNED a starting position so he shouldn't have one ... and there's no way on earth he'd have one on any other team in the league playing like this for as long as he has. Whoever wins the battle in camp starts next year ... you know ... just like every other position on the team.
We basically did that already this year and what happened along with his weapons around him regressing he also regressed
its a reference to a point i made after we brought in tebow about how tebow would strike mark down by making him fall in the shower and hurt his wrist. and thanks for your input on what people should wish for, i say dont wish for a pony. they eat alot and shit wherever the fuck they want.
So is Tannebaum is the archetect of the Titanic and Rex is the Captain? Also are the Jets fans the passengers of the SS Sanchez?
I find it amusing that I spent all off-season arguing about why they needed a real backup/replacement for Sanchez. Now because they didn't I am arguing that they should keep playing him.
It comes down to this. Mark Sanchez sucks, yet our offense isn't very good on top of Mark Sanchez sucking. We are probably bottom 5 offense right now, without Mark we are still a bottom 7 or 10 offense. Mark, Tim, Greg are not viable options for the future. That's the way it is. Throwing Tim and/or Greg out there will not result in immediate success. They will struggle and Tim will need a new playbook to make him most effective, do we really trust Rex and Tony to do this? Mark is the one we are tied to with his untradeable contract. He's the one that is definitely going to be on the team next year. Nobody will trade for him, we won't cut him. He is here for better or worse, most likely worse. We are lacking a playmaker at any skill position on offense, lacking talent at G and RT, lacking depth on the OL. We are need younger LB and need to either get younger at safety or resign they guys we have. We have holes on this team that goes further than Sanchez. In all likelihood, Sanchez is here next year. There is almost no plausible way to get rid of him. We can sit here complaining and ripping him, but he's here for the next year and a half. He will be shown the door next season, and at that point we are going to draft a QB. The only thing starting Greg or Tim does is show us how screwed we are at QB next season without a fix. It sucks, but it's the position we are in. It's what happens when you put all your eggs in the basket that your QB will jump and become elite (after his second year our offseason plan seemed to be based around this). We have been late addressing problems in recent years (OL, S, LB, WR) and that has caused a lack of solid talent now and bright future talent. Trading draft picks for a stop gap QB will just make this even worse. We are in a bad place and it will take a couple years to fix since there is no Luck or RGIII, although RGIII hasn't fixed much. The Redskins went from boring bad to exciting bad, but I digress. We are stuck with Sanchez, he is here and we are stuck with him because of our FO. It just makes more sense to build up the team and when Sanchez leaves, go all in for our new QB because Greg and Tim aren't the future. If they were, we would have seen in practice, TC, or preseason. If one of them were good enough, Sanchez would have been benched. But we are stuck with a QB we resigned and extended are stuck with, a QB we traded for unknown reasons, a QB with a weaker arm than post surgery Chad Pennington. Not the best options. Maybe a QB surprises and we can draft them in this upcoming draft. This way the transition from Sanchez to the future would be really clean with a learning period. But either way, Sanchez's contract means he is here no matter what. Remember Tebow is here for what 3 more years and Sanchez 1. This means we are tied to both of them in some way, but Tebow is tradeable and Sanchez isn't. If you think Tebow is the future and we can build around him, good for you but nobody else unfortunately believes within the NFL. If you just want him to start, because he is the lesser of two evils, remember that an offensive identity/approach has to be changed to have him at his most effective. Do we have talent/skill/coaches to do this effectively? Or will we just ruin another QB. Another key point Bradwaysux has brought up is nboody wanting to be associated with ruining Tebow. But that's a different argument.
oops, missed the I before never. Been typing and posting a lot. I still can't believe people wish for injury in game. It baffles me. Heh, kind of in the same position. I thought Stanton was a decent signing. But we showed no plan this offseason by then trading for a QB after signing a backup and extending our starter.
That's not really what we did this year. It was made clear that Sanchez was the starter and Tebow was brought in as a backup, and a package player. In four years, Sanchez has never had to earn his job. It's time for that bullshit to stop. If any of us did our job the way he has, we'd be unemployed, or at the very least, demoted.
If we had Stanton, I would be one of the people calling for Sanchez to be benched, that's what happens when Woody forces a move for headlines.
