everyone isnt covered. especially if you go back and look at the 1st miami game, pats game, texans game and the steelers game. the all22 film clearly shows there are guys wide open left and right. he doesnt see the field, and is horribly inaccurate. thats why he struggles
Up until game 12 of last year, Flacco was in the same league as Sanchez, and Sanchez played better in bigger games... This year and the end of last year is a different story. Also, ever heard of a little guy named Ray Rice? Sure, in terms of WR/TE options, they have had similar skill level players, but Ray Rice is one of the best offensive players in football. He can do it all- run the ball (making sure the defense cant only play pass), block, and oh yeah, he's the best receiving back in the league. When a QB has an outlet like Ray Rice or Marshall Faulk it makes their job's a lot easier. Rice is good for 5 receptions a game and 40-50 yards a game. That not only boosts his stats, but also how comfortable he is knowing he can always dump it off to Rice who will not only catch it but move the chains as well.

I get that Sanchez has hardly lived up to expectations of a 5th overall pick in his 4th season. I get that people are critical of his play, it's well deserved. But for Gods, sake, if you're going to be critical of the Jets QB, at least be consistent with your criticisms of QB's not on the Jets. We're probably not getting rid of Sanchez until 2014, so it's best to just hope something clicks and he gets it.
So people are pissed when he gets sacked - asking him to get rid of the ball. He figures out that he should throw it away or in the vicinity of an open WR to avoid the sack, reducing the amount of sacks the Jets offensive line gives up. Now we can conclude that the Jets' line is "not that bad.". No. Arguing like this is just as bad or worse than those who are blindly in support of Sanchez.
ray rice is an excellent player. however, 2 of sanchez 3 years the jets have had a better rushing offense then the ravens: 2009 NYJ 172 ypg BAL 134 ypg 2010 NYJ 148 BAL 114 2011 Ravens 124 Jets 114 and as far as recievers flaccos recievers by year: Mark Clayton/Derrick Mason Mark Clayton/Derrick Mason Boldin/Mason Boldin/Smith Boldin/Smith not exactly a great group
If he'd cut down on the turnovers you could live with the low completion %, but the team as a whole isn't good enough to make up for 2 or 3 turnovers or even 1 if they are facing a strong team.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Jets will draft a QB in the first round next year to compete with Sanchez for the starting QB spot and trade Tebow for a 5th/6th round pick. The rookie won't be able to beat Sanchez. Or is the answer to trade Sanchez? Who will take him?

Again, how can you say he will take longer when Hill is already so far ahead of where thomas was at this point last year? he is ALREADY way ahead of thomas curve.
I never compared Flacco to Sanchez other than to discuss how Flacco sucked dick against the Texans with a much better supporting cast on offense. You somehow think we would have beat the Texans with Flacco though. If you're going to be so critical of Sanchez, which is perfectly reasonable, you should be critical of non-Jet QB's too.
i dont know, i mean that tom brady guy seems to be working out. johnny unitas? steve young? joe montana? sony jurgenson? even if its a 1/100000 chance, isnt it worth it to find out? the upside is enormous if we find a gem. there is no downside as we already suck and are getting terrible QB play.
what about the others? Steve Young Unitas? Jurgenson? Hasselbeck? Theisman? Brunell? Rypien? Trent Green? Gannon Burlein? Aaron Brooks? Grogan? again, even if its a slim chance, why not see what you have? there is no risk. its not like we are 5-4 with average QB play. we are 3-5 with 32nd ranked qb play. if we arent going to play these guys now, why have them on the roster?
You don't play them because they aren't as good as the shitty QB that starts. Imagine what our record would be with a worse QB?
I hate when Sanchez gets sacked, but when he does, that gives him no excuse to fumble the ball. He needs to have better ball control and treat the ball like a newborn baby. If he sees nothing, throw it away. Basic football fundamentals should tell him that sometimes, a play is broken. If that happens, throw it out of bounds or at the worst, take a sack SECURING the football. A high school QB would know that much. Another thing he has is poor pocket awareness. I can't count the number of times the O-line gives him good protection, he stands there for 6-7 seconds, and then finally someone gets around to tackling him because of his inability to make a decision. What happened to tucking it and running? You see most other QB's try to extend plays and drives like that. Why isn't Sanchez doing the same thing? All of these fundamental errors are maddening. Especially when you see college QBs perform at a higher level than Sanchez in his 4th year.
yet again, you can't be sure that the other QBs on the roster are as shitty as the current QB is playing right now.
They also might think and hold out hope that things will start to click with Sanchez, especially given their investment in him. Heck, the Raiders did that with Jamarcus Russell for 3 years.
