Doesnt 17A live in Staten Island? Do you know how far he is from the water? I saw that pick of the tanker washed up in SI. Fucking crazy... these pics I am seeing of the area between Seaside and Keyport. My aunt texted me and my uncle who lives in Seaside is ok, a few scary moments but he is ok. Now I have to worry about family in Point, Spring Lake, Brick and Keyport and friends in Toms River. I'm sure they are all ok but no cell phone or power isn't good.
My sister went to one of the Toms River high schools acting as a shelter and gave clothes to some flood victims. There are houses under water down past Drum Point Road
She said some of the victims have ALL of their possessions in a single garbage bag. All as in everything they were able to save.
I moved to SC from LI almost 7 years ago. I have never wanted to be back home for some reason more than today. Not permanently, because i love where i live. But it sucks looking at places on TV where i grew up and my family is,and is from going through this.
Does anyone know the situation with the subways for tomorrow? Thinking of walking to work for a hr and then going back home. Dont want to be the only one working really...
Subways will be out for a minimum of 4 more days. They have to pump out all the water, test the equipment, and make emergency repairs. They may start up sections like uptown to midtown trains but no chance of that happening tomorrow
I've read some accounts on social media that say the entire town of Sea Bright (which is very small) has been destroyed. It appears that there is major major damage in Bay Head. So bad in Bay Head and Mantoloking that they aren't even letting the media in yet. They want to make sure everybody is safe. Union Beach been decimated. http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ga...Kategori=MULTIMEDIA02&Lopenr=310300048&Ref=PH
my fucking roof blew off, the whole thing in one piece. this hurricane deductible bullshit is going to fuck up my world.
long beach (NY) is a disaster zone - majority of houses, businesses, condos have flood damage - from both the ocean and bay..... many cars flooded - water coming up to glass level on most. many cars floated into each other. worst disaster in modern history for the town. not quite as severe as the east facing jersey shore communities or breezy point in queens but just as sad, nonetheless.
just got our power back----this was crazy,,,,,small damage here and there nothing that cannot be fixed, family is ok that is all that matters . I hope all of you are okay and to those that lost ,,,,,my thoughts go out to you ! Jay Wayne and all the others ,thanks for the thread,,,and the info,,,,,,this was just crazy , like something out of a movie
"New York City's rats have arrived. In the wake of superstorm Sandy, residents of the city are soon likely to see them by the thousands, since the rodents have been driven from flooded subway tunnels" http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...k-rats-flooded-subway-weather-nation-science/
Just a thought, but maybe a tgg fundraiser for our own who have had damage.even if its a little, everything helps.
