idk. i think there is gonna be a round 2 when this thing wraps around again. its the worst its been all day here in dutchess county. power has been blinking like crazy
Dutchess County... my old stomping grounds! Haven't lost power here in MA yet. Crossing my fingers that we are good for the night.
Be safe! I'm hearing no power restored in greater Essex County, NJ for a week. Anyone else hear that?
It is getting real bad in Toms River now. Fallen branches hitting the windows and transformers blowing. Guaranteed many trees went down in the past 10 minutes.
Rescues taking place in Sea Bright http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/10/sea_bright_police_firefighters.html#incart_river_default
Guys be safe, live power lines could be down. I'm in Central Ohio, and getting 40/50 MPH winds on the very western edge of the storm. Yesterday I was on I-70 and saw a caravan of 20 Kansas City Power and Light trucks heading east. I stopped for fuel and saw one of their workers and he told me they were heading to the Stamford, CT area to help. It was great seeing the parade of trucks heading to help the east coast.
South Shore LI with bad flooding. It's up to at least the driveway of my house (according to my family).
Ha. I live in CT and lat October, when we lost power for a week, there were trucks from many states helpin out in CT. Me and my 8 year old made a game of it for a few days, counting how many different states sent people. NY, NJ, MA, RI, IL, OH, KY, MD, VA...the list when on and on. Pretty cool when you see them on the highway. Its almos movie-like.
Holy Fuck!!!! Reports are that the Mantoloking Bridge which connects Brick to Mantoloking, Bay Head and Point Pleasant has been taken out by a floating house... http://www.app.com/article/20121029...ing-house?odyssey=mod|breaking|text|Frontpage
Stay safe everyone. This is big news down here. 'Sandy' seems like the wrong name for this bitch. It needs a name like Adolf or Vlad. Props to Jay for calling this one out early. No one on TGG can complain about not being prepared.
