We need a 3-4 OLB that can get to the quarterback desperately. I can't imagine Jarvis Jones not being picked in the top five, but if by some miracle we get anywhere near him, we HAVE to take him. The kid is a stud.
I don't think we will actually get anywhere near Jones. I imagine we will end up 9-7/10-6. Then again, I'm an optimist compared to most people on this board.
If we end up cleaning house with the coaching staff by the end of the year, I would think the person who comes in would be more inclined to spend our 1st pick on an offensive player.
If anything it would be a quarterback. You probably arent going to take a right tackle early in the draft, there is no running back who will crack the top 15, and right now the top wideout is still up for debate Depending how bad we play for the rest of the season the goal should be Jarvis Jones
Would love it if in Round 1 they could get Jarvis Jones, round 2 they could find a QB, round 3 they could find a wide receiver, round 4 they could find a second linebacker, round 5 guard/tackle
No RB in the draft? I would say that we NEED a RB in the top 3 rounds. Definitely Jarvis Jones Round 1 and maybe Dion Jordan if he falls to Round 2 then RB 3rd.
After watching Jones yesterday I want that guy on this team. Sad thing is after years of trading up to take garbage this would be the one year we need to trade up. That kid is special.
Jarvis Jones is not a 3-4 OLB, he would need to put on weight, like 15-20 pounds. I'd rather get Dion Jordan who's more complete and will help us cover those TE's in Foxborough
We definitely need to upgrade at RB. Haven't really followed the prospects that much, are there no high level RBs in the top 10ish area?
I'm wondering with our slide, that maybe we can get someone like Jones or an elite defensive player in the first, and hope someone like Tyler Bray slips into the second. I'm not sold on the top QBs in this draft, especially Barkley.
I dont know if I would rather Jordan over Jones, but I would rather Jordans' draft position over Jones'.
Not really, but theres a ton of good RBs in the 2-3 round range that I could see turning into a MJD, Ray Rice, Lesean McCoy or Jamaal Charles type pick.
How do people feel about Mike Glennon from NC State? I go there now. He's a statue, but besides that he seems to have a fairly good pocket presence and his throws are often right on the money. He's also engineered a few 4th quarter comebacks in his starts at State. Gio Bernard for running back? The guy's a monster and will be a HUGE improvement over Greene.
He's moving up draft boards, pure pocket passer, great size and arm (6'6). Wouldnt be surprised if if he was a second round pick when its all said and done. At this point i rank him a little lower than EJ Manuel out of FSU.He's actually a player i wouldnt mind being picked by us, i dont think i can handle a high draft pick at quarterback again. And regarding Gio probably my fav RB in the draft with Lattimore now out.
Chances Are We Wont Pick Top 5 Although we might, I highly doubt we will pick in the Top 5. I believe that OLB needs to be addressed first. Although Chandler Jones has been amazing and people don't feel Coples is doing good. We need to remember the different defensive schemes. Coples isn't being told to blitz every play. His job is outside containment, which he has done quite well. There are plays in which he does seem to take off, but such is life. Regardless, we need to keep our eyes on Damontre Moore from Texas A&M. The man is purely a beast. RB can be picked up later on, and even something like Kenjon Barner from Oregon wouldn't be bad for us.
