I perked up when I read that too. After the NE roller coaster, coming out flat is a viable scenario. Hopefully Rex is reading this forum and will take care of that. 2 weeks of preparation can't hurt either.
Eh. I still don't buy that teams win or lose games based on their emotion or "wanting revenge". If they want revenge they need to do it by executing on the field. Teams come out flat because they aren't executing. Sometimes they aren't fully warmed up yet.
We're happy we're 2.5 point dogs because before the season (especially after Tannehill got named the starter) -- or a few weeks ago -- we would have been at least seven point dogs. It's a sign that we're improving.
It's amazing that Dolphin fans still don't understand Sparano is doing a different job here than he was there. I mean is it really that difficult of a concept to grasp?
 Good post. I told my Phins fan friend this recently when he was laughing at Jets hiring Sparano.
its a must win for them as much as it is for us. The Jets and Dolphins are on the same level this year IMO.
Presumably there is some correlation between how a guy performs as an OC and how he performs as a head coach. That's why OCs get head coaching jobs, right? "He's a good OC, let's see how he does as a head coach." Conversely, if a guy is a terrible head coach, that's some indication (though not proof, of course) that he won't be a good OC either. I dunno, doesn't seem like a difficult concept to grasp...
All 4 of Rex's years the Jets have been at a level above the Dolphins, but somehow they find a way to beat us. So that is basically my only concern. I feel the Jets are better and should dominate Sunday.
So let's follow your logic full circle. We can start with this question: Why did Sparano get a head coaching job with the Dolphins?
why would we be overlooking them, if Dan Carpenter makes that 43 yard field goal in overtime we are 3-5 and the world would be ending,we barley won last time
They can knock Sparano all they want I don't care for him myself but the guy was a NFL coach you have to know something to land that job you don't just get lucky or fake a resume, lol maybe Sparano did
Because Bill Parcells liked him and thought he had done a good job with the Cowboys. He wasn't the OC in Dallas, though.
Those are valid points but i am more worried about the head to head that's usually split year after year.
Um, I will, because after facing your crappy defense his stats will probably look better and people will be saying "oh well it was the shitty ass Dolphins". Goes both ways. The offense has had 3 bad games. They've been competent for the other 4. We'll see which one shows up Sunday.
we will sweep you this year. you wasted your chance to steal the game against us Sanchez gonna embarrass ur boy
i have absolutely no doubt that the product we've seen on the field are of equal level. Let's take it phase by phase. Passing Game - Arguably equal with slight edge to Jets Running Game - Dolphins O-Line - Equal Defense: Run D - Dolphins by far Pass D - Jets by far Special Teams - Slight edge to Jets So I guess I'll revise my comment and say the Jets have been slightly better but not by much.
