Can we be honest the only team that would give up a 1st and a 4th for a injury prone RB is the Raiders so they better call themselves with that bull shit I'll give up a 4th and thats about it, that contract, the risk, the shelf life of a RB, we can draft our own at that. Matter fact Holmes for DMC
Pass. Talented? Yes. Reliable? No. He has not been able to stay healthy and he's having a poor showing this season. The only way you consider trading for McFadden is if you can get him on the cheap (A Day 3 draft pick or picks) due to his durability concerns/down season. Still, I'd pass and draft a back.
Don't see them moving McFadden especially since they let Bush go - guy who I really wish we could have gotten. Both are strong backs, McFadden is a dual threat though, runner and catcher. Have we already forgotten him torch us? lol.
Trading for other team's injury cases just builds even more weakness into the roster than the NFL normally creates. I hope we learned something from the Kris Jenkins and Lito Sheppard deals.
Jenkins was 29 when the Jets traded for him, and yes under normal conditions that point would be important. DMC is a running back. When those guys get hurt early it means something.
Thanks for the correction. here is a very good article on why the Raiders should move McFadden, perhaps also reasons why the JETS shouldn't get involved? http://www.bayareasportsguy.com/why-the-raiders-should-trade-darren-mcfadden/
I would entertain this notion...for a 3rd. A 3rd and no more. He is a stud RB......when healthy and that's the key. He is oft injured. A part of that is they ride him like zorro. When he's on the run him waaayyy too much. It's a thought.
Trading ANY draft pick for a half season rental is foolish. Plus he is going to want a contract. Paying big bucks to a back isn't in Tanny's DNA. Only way it would make any sense whatsoever is if the Jets have already determined that they wont be bringing Greene back next year then I think you can make the case for swapping Greene for McFadden and see how that works out. Both are free agents after this year. Still, it's a risk since Greene has been in the system and you don't know how long it would take McFadden to adjust to a new offense, blocking scheme and it takes more than 8 games to gel with a unit.
Good point, and lord knows our cap situation next year won't allow us to re-sign or sign a lot of FA's.
I agree somewhat but a draft pick is a hit or miss...you know what you are getting with McFadden. What I don't agree with is in BOLD...a RB can pretty much come in and be lights out if he has the talent no matter the blocking scheme. That's been proven time and time again.
I think McFadden is a FA AFTER the 2013 season, so 2014. Greene is a FA and the end of this season. Someone correct if wrong.
