I am opposed to trading picks for talent at this point in general, but this guy is still young and is a true #1 IMO. Disregard to Dolphins speculation, but would you be willing to trade for the guy for the right price? Or would you rather hold the picks and fill other needs in the draft?

This IS NOT a trade for this beast thread. I really am just curious as to what people in Jets nation think.

According to Yahoo's Jason Cole, Dwayne Bowe "very badly" wants out of Kansas City, but a team source tells the Palm Beach Post he's not being pursued by the Dolphins.
Cole apparently intimated as much in a radio interview before tweeting, "I'm NOT reporting (Kansas City and Miami) are talking trade over Bowe. Not yet, at least." Playing under the franchise tag, Bowe is headed toward unrestricted free agency. With extra second- and third-round picks from the Vontae Davis and Brandon Marshall trades, the Dolphins would make sense as a trade partner, but players like Bowe are rarely shipped out mid-season. He could be franchised again ahead of a potential trade in the offseason.

No his contract runs out next year. Don't want to spend our picks. Take a shot signing him next offseason if we must. Now if somehow we can swing a player for Bowe, sure go for it depending on the player. Picks, no thank you

Shooting from the hip but what about Keller for Bowe? They need a TE, we need a WR. Both negotiable future contracts as they are in a contract year.

Connect the dots, Kevin O'Connell is working out for the Jets, Tebow for Dwayne Bowe straight up. If that happens Brady Quinn gets skewed again lol!

I don't think it will happen, he is owed 9.5 million this year, we don't have the space.

No thank you. While Cumberland has been nice and Bowe is an immediate upgrade at WR, I don't want to remove the only receiver Sanchez has played with for over a year. Now if Keller is more seriously hurt than he is letting on and he could pass a physical, I wouldn't mind a dirty deal but it would never happen.

Too crazy. Would definitely benefit the team a lot but too crazy. Definitely against trading any picks unless its a 7th

  6. Bowe being in a contract year drastically lowers his trade value. He could be had for perhaps a 3rd rounder or a player. He'd be a big time weapon for Sanchez/Sparano & would be similar to the type of boost that the Braylon trade brought in 09. Yes the contract situation was alittle different but Bowe might be the type of player the Jets end up keeping around over perhaps Dustin Keller.

The Jets would only have to pay him 5.9375. 6 game checks plus all bonuses for year already paid.

Would you want to give up that 3rd rounder?

We'll have too many WRs IMO. Holmes, Hill, Bowe, Kerley, Chaz (whose become a very reliable 3rd down target) I'll pass on that offer and keep Keller. What will you do with Holmes? We can't cut / trade Holmes at all until next off-season. If Hill can work on the fundamentals he's got the potential to be a #1, he's a #2 right now.

At this point I ask this question.

What makes the Jets a better team this season and next season? This year I'd much rather bring in a guy who can make an impact now, and make us a better team next year.

As for paying Tebow. His salary is so minimal I wouldn't mind taking the hit to net Bowe.

    Just playin devils advocate.

  11. If it saves the Jets season & he can fit under the Jets cap next offseason, absolutely. He'd be the true #1 power forward this team has lacked since Keyshawn. Bowe/Holmes/Hill/Kerley would be frightening for defenses.

Ever since Bowe quit on that final play against the Steelers I've stopped being a fan of his. Even the commentator called him lame while watching the play live. Fuck Bowe & signing that clown would annoy me more than bringing in TO or Ocho Cinco. Locker room was already a mess last season, don't need somebody who quits mid-play.

Holmes gets a lot of flack for his attitude but there's no way he'd ever run down the field & signal for the pass on 4th down with the clock running out ... and then while the ball is in the air with the game on the line ... decide he doesn't want to get hit & quit.

We wouldn't need to cut anyone this year. And Holmes can be dealt with next year. I think the Jets would be in a solid position to request a restructuring.

Hill does have that potential, but in the meantime he's on a rookie contract and is very much a raw talent. I've said from the beginning I thought Hill would be best served rotating in and out in his rookie year and I still believe that to be in the best interest of Hill and the Jets this year.

There is always Steve Breaston, he has disappeared form the Chiefs offense and he is cheap, making about $5 million this year.

Also how about trading back for Jerricho Cotchery, he is doing nothing for the Steelers right now.

This is a totally fair point. However, one could make the same argument against VJAX on Monday Night Football last year. It was late in the game, he ran deep, never looked for the ball, jogged it out and the ball dropped a few yards in front of him in the end zone.

Well my initial reaction was... this is crazy! But if he is on a contract year, then its just a rent-a-guy situation. KC has the same offensive system as the Jets so he could come along quickly and help out. I'd do it for a 5th and then let him walk at the end of the year.

IMO, we already have enough Breaston's and Cotchery's on this team. We are missing a Bowe.

I don't mind trading Tebow for him. Keller I would hesitate because there is the odd chance we trade Keller for him and then can't sign Bowe. Then we lose real bad.

Fair point. I would be very hesitant. I would only do it if we can get Bowe's word he would resign here or something along those lines. Losing a 3rd rounder for a one year rental seems to scary for my liking

Honestly I could see the 49ers trade for him, they need a vertical passing game and none of there guys can do that.

I'm not even sure the Jets should re-sign Keller to begin with.
