    McKnight - High ankle sprain
    Powell - Separated shoulder

Grimes is the #2 right now. Where do we go to get a #3? I'm sure we can poach someone else's practice squad, especially if we can IR either McKnight or Powell. We'll see how long they are out.

Greene better be ready to take almost all the load. Grimes will get his first chance at the big show, he better be ready to run hard. Hilliard will also probably get some carries at RB.

Funny that the Jets are looking better at receiver now. If Keller is feeling a little better Sunday, our most productive weapons may be on the outside and with two tight ends, rather than with the running game.

Tim Tebow should be our #2 RB this week. I am not kidding. I thought we'd run him out of base sets but that hasn't happened yet, w/ these injuries it almost has to happen this week.

It's the RB position. If the Jets can't find somebody to fill in acceptably they're not looking really hard OR the organization has no idea how to get production out of RB's at this point.

Kalil Bell was just waived by Bears. He'd be a solid pick up.

I assume Cromartie will continue to return kick offs too, which I am not sure about. Don't want him to get hurt.

Hopefully Greene and Grimes can do the job the next two weeks then get the other guys back after the BYE.

He's got 4.65 speed. He won't have the option to throw the ball on most plays so the defenders will be closing on him instead of caught in limbo. He's going to get hit a lot and hit hard.

I'm not sure that's what you do with your backup QB. There's a big difference between H-back and RB. H-backs do most of the hitting. RB's do most of the getting hit.

Very true. I'd rather that we take a knee instead.

The Jets stink at finding runningbacks. You can blame the line play all your want, but yesterday was the first time in that I saw Greene make a real decision in the backfield in two seasons, McNugget is better suited to play WR or CB, and Powell can't seem to impress the CS enough to accrue any meaningful carries.

The runningback position being so weak on a team that professes Ground and Pound is the biggest indictment of the scouts that there is.

Obviously they will add a third back and I think it's safe to say that whoever it is will have a proven track record of being able to protect the Quarterback, because lord knows Greene can't and Grimes is an unknown.

I'd like to sign Joseph Addai. He spent years in Indianapolis with Peyton Manning, a scheme that all RB's had to block in (and he did), and part of the off-season with New England.

    Couldn't hurt.

If not Addai, perhaps what a poster above said, Kalil Bell, or maybe Ryan Torain.

Ankle sprain? Separated shoulder? Really guys?

Ankle? Tape it up and get your ass back out there. Mangold can show you how to tape it up.

Shoulder? Snap it back in and get your ass back out there. Carry the ball in your other arm.

    Jesus Christ.

Nor do I. Cromartie has been absolutely great filling is as the #1. Yeah he gets a few terrible penalties but he has been almost as effective as Revis in stopping the opposing team's #1 receiver.

If Revis does walk or sit out we now know we have a pretty good replacement for him. Obviously not the same player but probably as close as we can find.

Mangold can show you how to tape it up, and miss time like he did last year.... becasue a high ankle sprain is not like rolling over your ankle playing pick up ball with your buddies.

A one armed Running back would be very usefull as well. doubly so for one that blocks and catches as much as he runs.

Lets hope we can turn a negative into a positive and this kid Grimes explodes onto the scene like a man possessed.

I second the Tebow at RB request. I'd love to see that. Especially vs the Pats.

    I don't know...maybe it is.

Let's ask Mangold who just played the game of the season on a bad ankle.

Or ask Bart Scott who's been playing all year on a broken big toe.

Or ask that guy on that other team that finished the game on a broken leg.

    I don't know...let's ask them.

Yeah I think the players know better if they can contribute positively to the team while injured. I would rather a player know he can't help a team while hurt and sit than try to come back and play bad while being tough because they're playing hurt. We don't know if the traning staff said "no you can't play" or the coaches saw them try to run and say "nope".

It's a big conclusion to jump that the players are holding themselves out and that it's not the coaches/training staff thinking the players would have a negative impact if they played.

Good chance at seeing that, but only in the shotgun.

You really want your speedy RB playing with a high ankle sprain?
