In the shiny Tim Tebow fantasy world you live in, Rex Ryan might not want Tebow to succeed. He might be trying to undermine him or whatever. In real life however Rex has a job to do and that job is winning football games. To say he doesn't want Tebow or ANYONE for that matter on his football team to score a TD is the one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in this sub-forum. And that's saying something.
Wait this was a serious post? Ahhhhhhahaahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahaahhaaha Smells like sperm in here.
So, to prove your point, he pulled - on 2nd down - a guy who is one of the biggest "locks" in the NFL to score a TD from within the 5 yard line? Yeah, that makes all the sense in the world.
Wow 1st. It's not a "lock" that he would score 2nd. They actually DID give him a chance on first down and he was shut down for a no gain AND 3rd (for the no-brain department) - It's a judgement call that they pulled him. You can question whether it was a stupid call or not; that's fine. But to suggest they have some kind of conspiracy going and don't want to see Tebow score, for some reason is a fucking joke. Rex wants and needs to win, he doesn't give a shit who carries the ball into the endzone Sometimes I can't believe these discussions on here. Utterly ridiculous the ideas thrown around in here by Tebow fans. That argument reeks of a Pop Warner Mom who just wants to see her son score a TD.. to actually see grown men act the same way about another grown man who they've never met is fucking weird.
Yeah, the idea that they didn't want to score doesn't hold up. They left him in for one shot. And they had to have known they would really second guess themselves if they pulled him and Sanchez threw two incompletions. I don't question their motives -- I question their judgment. They talk "ground and pound" to anybody that will listen, but when they're 2 yards away, with Tebow already in the game, they call two passes. That was a signature moment. They should have lined up, said "You know what we're going to do. Can you stop us?"
It's frustrating as hell to watch a guy who's known for putting up red zone points get pulled in the red zone! I think what some fans who don't like Tebow on the roster may not know is many Tebow fans would like to see him with another team. I never thought he was a good fit for the Jets. Being from Jersey originaly, I knew this was not an easy city to play for, with the slightest bit of failure treated as a titanic event. No doubt, Tebow is a different type of QB. In college he had a fantastic receiving corps, many of which are NFL standouts right now. They had all the confidence in his ability. I think the formula is all there for what Tebows future holds with the Jets. I believe the constant media pressure and some fan frustration will cause the Jets to either trade or release him. The thing I've noticed about this coaching staff is their inability to ever admit they are wrong and for some reason, Rex likes to go down with the ship
Once again for the Tebow bologna ponies - Sanchez & the Jets were THE MOST EFFICIENT redzone team in the NFL last year. Tebow got a shot, he got stuffed because no one blocked. They wanted to pass the ball so they put someone in that doesn't throw the ball like a fucking javelin.
I think this needs to be spelled "baloney ponies." It's not reading to the eye with its full poetic power.
And Sanchez and the Jets did stay home for the playoffs last year. What good is perfect form if you're not winning? By the way, Sanchez is a great passer, as long as you're wearing the other teams jersey
^^^ Which is sadly easy to second guess on Thursday. Save the Bologna pony shit for people who don't want the jets to do well will ya?
It is going to be such a pleasure to resurrect threads like this one, long after they have died and been buried in the graveyard of this forum for some 'in your face', slapdown, proof of the absurdity of Tim detractor's statements. Not to use my Prophet creds. for embarrassing anyone BUT as time goes on, in addition to the ones that already exist, more and more instances of blatant 'use Tim to put Mark in a position to look good' Rex and/or Tony calls will emerge. The truth is, tack another 3 yards on to Tim's 13 yard run toward the Texans' goal line and Tim is making his primal kill scream/flex and dropping to the T bow, with the Jets having 6 points instead of Folk's 3. My comment: Responces to my comment:
The only thing absurd is the fact that you actually believe the Jets didn't want Tebow to score. Every coach, player and fan would have been happy if Tebow was Tebowing in the endzone and this sub-forum overflowed with manchowder.
Buddy, I would think Mods. would try to set an example for good message board decorum instead of using distasteful techniques for desparaging a particular Jets player's fans in their comments. There are easy ways to get your anti-Tim fan bias across without calling people names like 'Tebow bologna ponies'. Example: "Once again for the" slow learning Tebow fan or "Once again for the" blindly loyal Tebow fans. It's an adjective vs. noun thing. But discount my observation, what do I know?
Believe me, I dial what I say to you and many others waaaay back too. Attempts to bait me have not been missed.
He shouldn't have been put in in the first place. Mark had just drove the team down the field for 60 yards to the Houston 16 yard line. 24 yard pass, 36 yard pass, and then they trout Tebow out there for 2 straight plays. So incredibly dumb. If they were going pull Sanchez and ruin his momentum, they should have just went all in with Tebow.
I was thinking the same thing, then Tebow picked up 13 more yards and I said, OK, that worked. Not much difference between Sanchez handing it off and him standing on the sideline while Tebow runs it. Is there?
Yeah Offense has been killing it without Tebow not sure why they brought him in..... Honestly - they don't seem to have much of a clue what to do with him and using him how they are seems to just be disrupting what little flow Sanchez might be in. I am not sure this is good for either Sanchez or Tebow. I would rather they not use him at all if this was the plan - which apparently it was.
