Whenever Tebow comes in off the sidelines into the huddle, all hell breaks loose. The rest of the team is running around like it's their first day at practice and Sanchez is looking at the sidelines with his hands in the air with a confused and disgusted look. The Tebow package must be so secretive that nobody but Tebow and Sporano actually have a grasp on the plays. I'm going to go as far as to say that it was a major contributing factor that cost us the game last night. Those 2 timeouts that we wasted when they brought Tebow on the field and nobody knew WTF to do, could have been really handy in the last 3 minutes of the game. I just don't get it. If you want to play Tebow, then play him for 2 or 3 straight plays. PLEASE don't mess with what little chemistry that Mark and his "WRs" have by constantly yanking him off the field to run one play that most likely LOSES yardage. /rant
The reason they rushed that last play with the two minute warning approaching was because they only had one time out. With 2 or 3 time outs they let the 2 minute warning come, go to the sideline, collect themselves, and line up a play Instead the rushed and end of game.
Kinda makes you wonder just exactly how much time they actually spend on this stuff doesn't it......? I don't even think one of those timeouts was Tebow related. I think Sanchez broke the huddle with about 9 secs on the play clock on one of them. But I get your point. I am not even sure they have everyone up to speed on offense with the injuries. Some of the guys on the field haven't been working long with the 1's.
Part of the issues with personnel is you are missing Holmes, Hill, and Keller -- so technically you are at like the first week of training camp for most of those guys filling in. Bad prep from Sporano and the offensive staff communicating with their groups.
How the fvck is the loss Tebow's fault? He barely played, and when he did he had a perfectly placed long bomb that was dropped, a decent gain run in the redzone only to be pulled, a 4th down conversion, and a few short gains. but I agree, if you are gonna play him leave him in a little while. Same with Sanchez. They do the opposite of logic. If Sanchez thrives, they yank him. If Tebow does, they yank him.
This happened on more than one occasion. So tired of Sanchez making dumb mistakes that cost us delay of game penalties. And Sparano needs to make up his damn mind...if you put in Tebow, keep him in for a series! It's such a waste for Tebow to come in for one play. There's a reason Denver was successful: Letting him play multiple downs makes teams unsure of whether he's going to hand off, run, or throw. Granted, the latter didn't happen much.
I don't think he is blaming tebow - he is blaming the tebow package which seems to confuse the Jets more than the Texans. You make a big first down, you are driving, you bring in tebow and have to call a timeout. They just killed momentum and the crowd with shit like that. Than tebow has a nice gain up the middle...you are in an ideal Tebow spread option situation at the goal line missing all your top tier targets and you pull him - crowd boos - you pass twice - more boos -- momentum swing. Just schotty like play calling. All summer it was oh we can't show you the widcat is is secretive. Apparently they can't show themselves either.
Isn't that exactly what the Jets franchise has done since we've been in the league? Logic is non-existent to this team.
I couldn't agree more. that 2 minute drill our last possesion was a complete shit show. Its the last drive, give it to mark or give it to tim and say "go win it for us". if you feel like you really need both in there, keep them BOTH in the entire drive(and have practice time in a 2 minute drill with that package). Either way, all game long this "tebow in for one play" crap has to go. I can see if its 3rd and short, 2nd and short and you bring in tebow to sneak it for the first down... but hell we dont do that! the one 3rd and inches we brought in 3 tight ends no wideouts and ran and obvious qb sneak with mark! if you bring in tebow bring him in situations that make sense. leave him in for 4 or so plays. give him a series. that, or make certain areas automatic he comes in, so the team knows its tebow time. 1 or less to go - tebow. inside the 10 - tebow. first possesion of a quarter or half - tebow, etc. also, WTF are we rushing to get 1 more play off before the 2 minute warning? we had 2 minutes and a time out and we were like at the 40 or so. it was 3rd and long. get a good play worked, take your time and execute!
The Jets haven't figured out the best way to use Tebow. For instance, the guy runs the ball to the four yard line and then they yank him. WTF? Sanchez absolutely should be the starter but damn the coaching staff needs to do a better job of picking Tebow's spots. I have a feeling if he had stayed in they would've had a TD.
I get the impression that the coaches (with Tebow) are more afraid of something going wrong than giving him the chance for something to go really right.
I liked some of the downfield passes, and the screen to Greene, I am like where did that come from? Good call. But for the most part, the playcalling was not good, and the CS has no real plan how to use Tebow. Pass plays on third with receivers short of the first down marker. As for delyas with Tebow coming in, I was afraid of those kinds of delays from last winter. Shit, you call that when you just had a big passing play? Anyone knows it's hard enough to get the play in after those even if you are not changing Qb's. Duh.
Believe me after 4 years of that shuttling in and out crap in Miami, I understand your distaste for it.
the way they are alternating between tebow and sanchez is detrimental to both of them. if they really want to have tebow just let him run a series or two then let mark do the rest. consistency is what qbs need not this momentum killing rhythm breaking change ups
You have a bunch of new guys in the offense due to the injuries. It just doesn't make sense for the Jets to be using Tebow the way they are right now. Give him a whole drive now and then and keep him on the bench except as the punt sneaker otherwise. Doing what the Jets are doing right now is just asking for more trouble than they already have, which is more than they can handle.
Honestly, I don't like the Tebow WC package at all. I hope we stop using it, it's hurting Sanchez. Tebow isn't going to fix receiver drops or oline protection. Put Tebow in with Sanchez as a decoy. That's the only time I want to see him.
I’ll tell you the best way we could have used Tebow. The last drive Tebow should have been the full time QB. We should have strapped getting the winning TD right on him. It’s one of the few things he has proven to be good at in the NFL. Tebow could have won that game for us. But we stuck with the hang dog.
