I don't think Slauson is a dirty player but he is in idiot for diving at the back of Cushing's legs like that. http://www.rantsports.com/clubhouse...ries-brian-cushing-on-questionable-cut-block/ Was announced this morning Cushing is out with ACL injury.
I saw Cushing on TV say "Fuck, why me?" It sucks, hes a good player...Texans have some great defensive players
Yeah Cushing has been one of my favorite players. The guy has a ridiculous motor and great instincts as a LB. Big loss to the Texans D but they have some people who will step it up.
i don't think that was a dirty play at all. hard nose and physical d is considered dirty in this soft era now? i'm glad that jets retain that physical dimension to our play. as someone who has played the game on an organizational level before i know the doubt and reservation a player has when u know the other team is capable of laying you out, i think jets d need to develop a reputation for physicality to compensate for lack of pass rush.
He made a legal hit, in a football game. Had Powell broken that tackle we would have needed that block. Have you ever heard a coach say "stay on your blocks... unless the play isn't that close to you"? Injuries happen. Like I said, this is football, not soccer.
I don't recall, did Slauson get a penalty on that play? Was it a dirty play or an aggressive play? Regardless of whether Cushing could have made a play on the ball carrier. I don't understand what our fanbase wants from the team. To be aggressive on every down or to stand around and analyse whether or not an opposing player can or cannot make a play on our ball carrier before doing anything. If a penalty was called, fine... Slauson did bad, but if no penalty was called and it was a clean play, applaud him and say "Way to go!". Let's not start condemning our own players while we praise others.
i dont think it was a dirty hit at all, it didnt even look that bad, really bad luck that he got injured on the play if anything. slauson had his best game of the season last night regardless so lets not try and label him a dirty player cause the guy he hit got injured.
It's weird -- I watch the Texans play and there's all these big, tough white guys running around on the defense. It seems like they all look alike.
It was a legal block. It was not from behind - I watched the replay and the video this morning. It was a cut block that players hate but it isn't illegal at this point. Should it be illegal is debatable. Tough break.
Looks like he is going to be in the eye of the media storm this week, at least they might get off Mark's back this week.
Look at the gifs posted later in this thread, that hit is questionable at best. I thought it was dirty when I saw it live.
Doesn't matter what you want to label him that was definitely a dirty play. You don't dive at someone's legs like that from behind. I don't think Slauson is dirty but that was a terrible decision.
Not from behind? Are you kidding me. He was directly behind him its not even up for dispute that he was behind him.
There was zero intent. It was an unneeded decision by Slauson though. That'd be like me saying JJ Watt purposely ended Rob Turner's season by rolling for his legs in preseason last year(Which did end up hurting us since he was our backup lineman and especially backup center)
