i give them props for some ballsy play calls. but just too much terrible decision making. tebow runs for 10 yards gets us to the 4. why dont you give him 3 cracks at the endzone on 4th down instead of bringing sanchez back where he has struggled in those inside the 10 situations? last drive, why are we trying to run tebow in for one frigging play? its the last drive. go with mark or go with tim. no time for BS there. the wildcat be it mcknight or tebow is crap. tebow works best in the spread read option, and throwing it deep. why we never use him in those 2 things is beyond me deep pass was working, 5 and 7 step drops. why we kept going with mark on 3 step drops when: a) it wasnt working b) he kept getting balls deflected with short drops b) it plays to his/our weakness is beyond me
What was extremely bothersome with coaching was the rushed huddles & timeouts wasted from screwing up their offensive substitutions. They put in all that effort & only confused/penalized themselves.
There's so many unexplainable things they do - having Sanchez sneak the ball was one that popped to mind - putting Sanchez back in on the goal line series is another. Both situations are exactly WHY they said they brought Tebow here in the first place. Hurrying the play before the 2-minute warning, etc. etc.
no, he didnt. -different formation -first was a dive off right gaurd -second was an option off left tackle and even if it WAS the same thing, that just goes to how bad the coaching is. that run could of set up one of a dozen plays. a throw might have been wide open. if tebow is in all 3 downs, id be shocked if they didnt get a TD
The onside kick was killer. We get within one score and do the onside kick to basically give them at least 3 and make it a 9 point again. Also doing that stupid play with McKnight. Jeez.
The worst part about tonight was the coaching. Because despite all of the shortcomings on this team, you still had chances to win it. Why are we putting in long convoluted substitutions into the game plan, that never work and cost us crucial timeouts? If we had those timeouts at the end of the game, you don't rush the 3rd down play before the 2 minute warning and you don't turn the ball over. And speaking of that turnover, why are you rushing the play in like that? You had the 2 minute warning. You weren't going to catch Houston sleeping, so why rush it? Just doesn't make any sense.
onside kick was the best call of the night. in fact, it was a no brainer about 10 people called prior to it happening. Defense was absolutely gassesd. if we kicked it deep houston would have been at midfield in 2 or 3 plays anyhow. not to mention, it was there if schilens holds on.
The OP stole my thunder as I was going to post this exact same title in a thread. I'm sorry, but I saw far too many mistakes tonight by the entire team Coaching staff included. The best unit on the team tonight was the ST's. The offense still looks out of synch and because they're force feeding Tim Tebow, every drive gets interrupted by the obligatory Tebow snap WITH Sanchez on the field so they're playing 10 against 11 on offense. Every time Sanchez gets in a rythym, in comes Tebow. This two headed QB monster is exactly that. A Monster when it comes to personnel packages that gets fcked up. How in the hell do you get 12 DEFENSIVE PLAYERS on the field at the same time? This coaching staff isn't doing the team NOR its fanbase any favors with all this bullshit substituting and drive killing nonsense. Get the f'n play on the field and snap the f'n ball. How f'n hard is that? This Coaching staff is OVERRATED. Sparano is living up to his Miami rep and I fully understand why the Dolphin fans were happy to see his ass walk. I thought Schotty was bad but hell, compared to this bullshit, Schotty's offense was a thing of beauty. All these old guys Rex keeps playing on defense just seem to get older and slower by the game. Rex at times looks overmatched by his opposite number. Kubiak had solutions for every trick Rex and Sparano came up with. All in all, I hate this offense and am not real thrilled with this defense. I'm really beginning not to like this CS except for Westhoff who seems to be the only coach that knows what the fuck he's doing. Woody, for the love of God end the suffering, back up the fckn truck and clean house when this abortion of a season is over. You need competence in your Coaching and your Talent eval and right now pardner, you're not working with a lot of either.
I lived through 4 years of Sparano as HC. Captain Fistpump on FGs and momentum killers with the wildcat, which had no rhythm or reason behind them. As much as I hate the Jets I hate Sparano more and feel sorry that you had the inherit that steaming pile of incompetence. Don't expect to have more than one timeout entering the 4th quarter.. Ever.
Agreed, that onside kick was the best play to call and that situation. If Schilens makes that catch, this isn't even an issue. Our D was sucking wind from the previous drive and the big kickoff return, they'd have to go right back out there. Probably the smartest play the coaches called all night.
Sanchez throws to Kerley for 36 yards down to the Houston 16, then we proceed to take him out for the next 2 plays. That was so dumb. We took Tebow out when he had rhythm, and then we did the same thing with Sanchez. Just terrible play calling all around.
exactly... id love to see more tebow, but bringing him in just to run one option play is pointless. bring him in when the offense is stalling and leave him in. not jsut a token obvious run every time. thing is they could really give tebow a chance to make an impact if used right. its almost like they are throwing him out there just to say they used him. the bomb to hill, more of that. the 5 wide run for 10 yards. more of that. bringing him in short yardage and inside the 5 is a must. but bringing him in for 2nd down in the 2 minute drill? stupid.
If Schillens holds onto the ball it's a brilliant call. What killed them was not slowing down Foster in the 1st half. The drop by Hill and the poor thropw to Cromartie were huge fuck ups.
