    Watch Cleveland 95 -- A Football Life.

Considering all the "slappies" (Belichick underlings) from that group -- Ozzie Newsome, Thomas Dmitroff, Nick Saban, Jim Schwartz, Kirk Ferentz, Scott Pioli, Phil Savage, Eric Mangini -- it's depressing knowing we ended up with the biggest loser of them all, a salary cap assistant masquerading as GM, a no-talent hack who's never played, coached, or scouted the game of football at any level.

The backward somersault should never have been hired in the first place. Fire him now.

    Tannenbaum did an adequate job up until 2010;
but these last two seasons he's really lost his way.
If Woody has a clue, he'll bring in a new GM ASAP.

Like I said in the other thread it’s starting to seem likely that Woody is telling the GM how to do his job. If this is true it won’t matter who we bring in because they will all be Woody puppets.

What's surprising is that people are just starting to realize what has been obvious for the last 4-5 years.

It doesn't matter who we bring in because Woody is the one that is telling Tanny that he needs to cut back on spending. When Tanny wanted to win the Jets spent money.

    Exactly.

Woody has never had a strong GM with a football background. He had Bradway who was a weak GM with a football background and now Tannenbaum who is an accountant.

It'll be interesting to see if he picks a strong football guy as his next GM. One of the downsides of the two he has had over the last decade is that they haven't taught him much about how NFL football works. In fact they're provided bad examples repeatedly in the moves they made and the style they employed.

As I've said many times before Tanny is finally being exposed as the numbers only guy that he is. It's shocking it took this long.

He was never a football player personnel guy and never understood how to evaluate talent.

Jets need to bring in a GM/Head of Football Operations who knows the game and is a good talent evaluator.

We need a new GM simple as that.

The position we are in right now is the result of decisions made by Tanny over the past few years. He mortgaged our future to win now, with a make it or break it approach. We all knew it then, but didn't want to admit it. We did not make it and now we have very little talent on the field.

We have no depth, because Tanny throws away draft choices like used toilet paper. Couple that with the fact that most of our early draft choices have not worked out and you have a 4-6 win team.

I personally hate Woody Johnson, he is a clueless idiot and doesn't know a thing about football. Hopefully he dies soon because thats the only way to get rid of him

I don't think wishing death on someone is the right way to go.

The problem with the Jets the last decade and why they have spun their wheels as much as they have is that Terry Bradway is the one who cannot evaluate talent well.

That's the guy who has had more input on talent than anybody else in the organization and he's basically found Revis and Mangold in a decade of looking for star players.

2 star player drafts in a decade is pitiful.

The only one who has had more success in the NFL has been Ozzie Newsome

It is pitiful and Bradway should be gone along with Tannenbaum. No idea how a no talent guy like Terry Bradway has been around the NFL this long right along with Tanny who has killed this team with his draft picks.

I know that the Oakland ownership is a mess right now, and Miami's is something of a joke.

Still I have no real issue with saying the Jets right now have the worst ownership in football.

I also hate Woody. That is not an overstatement.

and yet we have had our most successful decade ever. I guess we need Steve Gutman back to hire the right football people.

Tells you what a losing franchise this is if this is our best decade ever. The Jets have sucked since Namath, plain and simple.

best stretch in franchise history and one of the top teams in the AFC during that timeframe.

I assume most of you guys weren't fans of the Jets pre-Woody.

And yet we still haven't even been to a Super Bowl since Namath. Depending on what your definition of success is, the Jets haven't really enjoyed much of it in 44 years. Leon Hess was just as apathetic of an owner as Woody is.
