Some people have suggested this in other threads. I don't think it would be a bad idea. It seemed like we always had good drafts with him as our HC. Now, I don't know how much input he had in the draft picks, but there has to be a reason our drafts have not been as good since he left.

I really like Rex Ryan as a Head Coach. I think it is always better to have a defensive minded Head Coach. I don't like Tannenbaum as the GM, though. He is great with the money side of thing, but it doesn't seem he has a good eye for football players.

    Thoughts?

Yea it would be better then Tannen-bum but Mangini wouldn't ever be considered as a candidate for the posistion. Ive never seen a former head coach take a GM job

Maybe they should give Mangini a job as the talent evaluator, while Tanny continues as the accountant.

This could either work incredibly well or blow up in Woody's face. I'm willing to take the risk.

He also traded the #5 overall for Jason Trusnik, Brett Ratliff and Kenyon Coleman and a 2nd round pick. If Sanchez would have panned out, that would have been extremely lopsided. On draft day I was shaking my head like those winery brats on TV until I saw the details of the trade.

Just because you picked Revis, Harris, and Mangold doesn't mean you get a FO job. Also, would he want one with the organization that kicked his tail to the curb?

Also, I doubt Tanny takes a demotion. We will have to navigate cap hell without him if he's no longer the GM. He seems to be too proud. I don't watch a lot of pressers from him but I did watch Hard Knocks, where it seemed like he thought he was the bee's knees.

Wouldn't it be ironic if they sat him down like he did Kellen Clemens and tell him to either take the demotion and pay cut or they will fire him?

Bill Polian is going to be 70 in December. His son is not that good.

You don't turn the management of your team over to a 70 year old for obvious reasons.

Agree with you 100%. This Polian talk is ridiculous.

Couldn't agree more. Not to mention the fact that the only reason the Colts were good for most of the decade was Peyton, without him they folded. Doesn't sound like a great talent evaluator to me!

They had no talent other than Peyton. Freeney and Mathis, sounds good - but without 18, that team is a 5 or 6 win team every year.

Not only not get a QB, Mangenius got stuck with a guy named Favre, and then got dumped. Hmm, Rex gets stuck with a guy named Teb....

Why would we do that??? Cause he is a good guest on espn football shows.... It's easier to go back and criticize teams after the fact..Like he does on first take or NFL live.... I don't think he can evaluate talent that good though... Remember the ghost,He was the one who really wanted him..
