I don't mind debating and disagreeing on Tebow's skills or lack of skills, but I'm getting sick of and tired of posters who refer to the Tebow fans on this board as fanatics and religious nuts. Here's a small dose of it from the past day or two:

Pay particular attention to the statements in boldface. There are a lot more references to Christianity, God, Belief, and Hate than I've ever seen in a Tebow fan's post. The posts above seem to show a disturbing anti-christian bias bordering on Hate Speech. There's also a mistaken belief that all Tebow fans are religious nuts. I'm not particularly religious myself, but I have friends and family who are. I don't make fun of them. Lots of athletes are Christian and thank God after a good game. I don't make fun of them. Some people choose to remain chaste until they're married. I don't make fun of them. Some of my friends and family are pro-life while others are pro-choice. I don't accuse either of being affiliated with a "hate group".

Who are these Tebow fanatics that call the above posters "anti-Christian" if they don't think Tebow can be a good QB? I sure haven't seen any of them. Is it me (JaxSuzy)? Is it Demosthenes9, Backup QB or CowboysFan? Remarker or Bannon? Catsigator, Potzer, TTTTebowAndTheJets? John Chisum, Jet'sMyName, NYJets82, ItsTime, JFJets, Wolf Brother?

It's not me. Which one of you belongs to this mysterious cult of religious maniacs referenced above? If you don't belong to a crazy cult but happen to like Tebow's QB skills, please add your name. And you Posters who keep referring to us Tebow-Jets fans as such, how about giving specific names and posts to back up your sickening statements?

I'm a Tebow fan since I saw the ESPN special when he was in high school where he scored a TD with a broken leg. You can't help but to follow him after that and then when he was with Gators , although not particularly a Gator fan, saw him rise big time and then being the nfl nut that I am and the cowboys being so depressing , I enjoyed the heck out of last year .

One other thing, although I am not particularly religious , I do admire Tebow and how he treats sick children even when the cameras are not rolling like in some phillipine jungle . A guy like that deserves some people in his corner and by the looks of it it's only about a dozen people here .

    I enjoy your post also.

Also I am a mark Sanchez fan ( AND I was born in Manhattan ) and have always rooted for him to make it . I don't wish mark any ill will and hope he turns it around .

Thanks CowboysFan! I really do admire him for the help he gives to children, the handicapped, and to people in general. He's quiet about it and not very showy, which I admire. And who the hell wouldn't love a player who played through the pain?

I've always liked Sanchez, too, and don't wish him any harm. I was happy when Tim signed with the Jets and thought he'd be able to get some experience behind someone who'd been starting longer than he had. I thought it would take the immense pressure to start off of him, and he'd be able to work on his mechanics. Hope that still happens.

Because TT talks about his belief in God and Jesus, some of TT's detractors trash him because they have "an agenda." Not everyone is like that. Others may just be critical of TT simply because they don't think he can make it as a qb in the league. It's fine for them to present their evidence as to why they have that opinion. Some of them are even cool about it. They give their opinion without taking shots at Tebow and I can respect that. But I know one of those guys who is quoted above has a serious obsession and agenda going on. I think I was the one who said I think phaytal was doggin on Tebow and us fans cause some of his remarks seemed like a bunch of things a militant anti-Christian would say. I thought the remarks of phaytal had nothing to do with the discussion. But it showed us his true colors in my opinion.

Hate speech? Really? Sports trash talking is personal, hence Big Ben and the word "rape" or Antonio Cromartie and his kids. Tebow's thing happens to be Christianity. Enter coincidence.

As for calling words like "cult" anti-Christian, you're grasping at straws (and that's a generous statement). They're just used because it's a double ententre when applied to Tebow. Nothing more.

For the record I do not care much what anyone calls me on the Internet etc
Although I know these are real people posting you can't help but think of posters like Phaytal like a cartoon character and that's ok because I am sure I am a cartoon character also back to them. So since no one really knows me there is no possible way I could take anything personal posted here .

Settle down, Vandy. I always take you guys seriously when you play us in football, cuz you never know about Vandy.

At least one of the posters that I quoted above claimed to have been called Anti-Christian by the Tebow fans because he didn't think TT was a good QB. I was simply asking for proof of that statement. I also pointed out that the quotes above by non-Tebow fans contain more religious references than anything I've seen a Tebow fan post on this forum.

I didn't mean to jump to conclusions but I dont know how else to interpret
unless the last sentence was meant as a clarifier.

That's right, Chisum. It was pretty obvious, and I'm getting sick of it. I don't mind good debate and I respect others' opinions, but those comments I quoted in the OP were personally insulting and not true sports banter or trash talk. Dierking, NYjunc, Cman55, VandyJets trash talk at times and I have no problem with them or most of the other posters. I'm extremely grateful that Petrozza gave us the Tebowmania section and has gotten rid of some trolls on either side. But I'm a little bit tired of being labeled a fanatic or worse simply because I'm a Tebow fan.

LOL at this point even I can no longer interpret what I meant  But seriously, it was meant as a clarifier. I tend to get too wordy in my posts. Basically I was pointing out that I don't see the Tebow fans on this board doing what is claimed in the quoted posts. I've never seen a Tebow fan call a nonfan "unchristian" simply for not being a fan. The irony is that the quotes in the original post are not those of Tebow fans, yet use more religious terms than I've seen in any Tebow fan post. Just read that crap one more time, Vandy, and imagine how it feels to hear that crap ad nauseum. I could puke. At least one can be a Sanchez fan or a Clay Matthews fan or a Champ Bailey fan or hell the fan of somebody sucky without being accused of only liking them because they're Christian.

Thanks for adding your name Joe. I see you live in Amelia Island - isn't there a great football prospect playing in nearby Yulee? I think I saw a clip on one of the local Jax stations. Please make sure he goes to UF!

    Derrick Henry

YVW. Yes, Ms. JaxSuzy, Derrick Henry, the Yulee Hornets’ sensational senior running back is headed to the University of Alabama, not UF. Recent article: http://jacksonville.com/sports/high-schools/2012-10-05/story/derrick-henry-sets-national-record-yulees-shutout-win-over
