What happened to the days of actually playing, let alone playing really well, in a contract year when trying to get more money on your next contract ?
If a player truely believes they can not play and get more money out of it, I can see why they wouldn't do your scenario. No risk of injury and they can get a new higher contract, why not. I wonder if Keller is actually sitting out for contract (I don't think he is) if the Revis injury had any impact on his decision
Nobody is going to pay Keller anything. He will probably be back. And the Jets will overpay. I don't see how he doesn't play when he was questionable last week and ran through before the game. 8 days later he should be good to go. If not, ridiculous.
I'm sure there is a Rex Ryan foot joke in there somewhere. No idea how your guys will move the ball against the Texans D. Hope your punter has a fresh leg.
I've never been that big a fan of Keller's. If you add injury prone, to his penchant for mental lapses, taking plays off and his problems with dropped passes, it's easy to see why we shouldn't offer him a big contact. Time to move on.
Either Keller is a Class A Queen or the Jets have been lying about the severity of his injury. I'm sorry, but there's no way in hell someone is sitting out four games (really five, how much did he really play Week 1?) with a pulled hamstring, especially at TE. Heck, he can't even participate a little bit in practice. I think the hamstring is slightly torn, not fully torn, but slightly torn, and thus they haven't said a word. If he misses another two games, then perhaps it was fully torn. It's bad enough that he has inconsistent hands and is an inconsistent blocker, but we could still always rely on him for 50-65 grabs a year, but now he's just riding the injury report pony and perhaps his contract demands have a thing or two to do with it as well.
more likely its just one of those things, every team has a ton of injuries at some point, I know everyone has a downer on the FO at the moment (myself included) but you cant blame them for everything. the patriots lost both gronk and hernandez to injuries - clearly their FO must suck also.
LMAO theres only 1 team left on the schedule that we will def win and thats against Jacksonville, Theres no gimmie's with this team anymore,Coming into this season I thought we would spilt the series with NE but that's laughable now, I predict we will go 7-9 and Rex and Tanny will have plenty of excuses to make with the lose of Revis and Holmes and whoever else we end up losing. Because if you ask me we have been playing without our 3 best players, We cant win without Revis,Holmes and Keller. If I had to pick 3 players we could not afford to lose before this season started those are the 3 names I would have given you
He is in a contract year so you know he wants to play. for once, the Jets made a smart decision to not re-sign him. Now can we take back Holmes, Harris and Pohua contracts and start over.
It looks like not much training went on during "training camp". The fact that we have so many players who are consistently getting injured leads me to believe that our training camp was pussified.
Keller is not a game changer. He rarely gets extra yards after a catch and never makes an amazing catch.
He's Marky Mark's go to guy! How can you say he isn't a game changer? Please explain, because maybe I'm not watching the same Jets team as you are.
I assume you are being sarcastic. Do u think he strikes fear into a defense? He has rarely if ever made a play that made me say wow
Keller is a worthless fucking coward. This season is a sinking ship and he's just sitting on the sidelines collecting his fat paycheck so he doesn't harm his numbers during a lost cause year. John Abraham v 2.0.
