Fitzpatrick is way better. Kolb is a wash, but might be better. I really think they have their guy in Tebow, though. He's still so young. He is still developing.
and when the games are biggest Romo comes up small. Imagine if Mark threw 5 INts like Romo the other night w/ all that talent that mark doesn't have around him.
To list every starting QB in a straight up trade scenario is nonsense. Obviously people would take top QB's over Sanchez.
I don't own a horse, high or otherwise. You deserved the criticism. And you did not "acknowledge" a mistake before I posted what you quoted. (What was clarified was about his not being a draft pick, as he in fact was, but that was not the only problem with your post.) As for whether you implied there was a competition, you said originally: If McElroy was so good, why wasn't he even drafted, and why has he been stuck as 3rd string when the 2nd string QB has changed like 3 times already? Think about it. Call me crazy, but I think when you said "stuck as 3rd string" you meant that he was there on the merits. The fact is there was no process this camp for determining whether McElroy is more deserving than Tebow of being higher on the depth chart. Tebow was traded for, was announced as Sanchez's backup, and that was that. This is not mere semantics. Whatever problems McElroy may have, I am virtually certain he is better equipped to run the O than Tebow is, and that is because Tebow is not a real NFL Qb. But... if you did not mean to say, implicitly or otherwise, that McElroy is third string because he has been given a chance to be higher on the depth chart but has shown he does not deserve to be, if you did NOT mean to say that, then I am glad we cleared that up. Because if you said that, that would be untrue.
Rather have him over: Fitzpartrick Tannehill Weeden Gabbert Locker Palmer Cassel Freeman Wilson Kolb Bradford
Correct. In his rookie year with sub-par WR talent. Compared to Tony Homo who's in his 7th year, as a prolific passer, and a receiving core (Witten included) that is head n' shoulders above ANYTHING Sanchez ever had to work with. I'm not defending Sanchez because he is proving he is nothing more than an average QB, but I'm smart enough to take a step back and look at the big picture.
Weeden, Gabbert, and Cassel Those are the only QBs I wouldn't take over Sanchez. I'd also take a few backups like Shaun Hill, Jason Campbell, Matt Flynn over him as well.
I was surprised that KC stayed with Cassel and let Orton go, as Cassel is probably the only starting Qb I would not take over Sanchez. And yes, there are several backup Qb's I would take over Sanchez. The guy in Detroit, Orton in addition to those mentioned. And who is Philly's backup? He looked good against the Jets in pre-season. Even Edwards did.
Lol come on. I'm not really a big Sanchez fan but Fitzpatrick is just terrible. If he was our QB he would have been run out of town by now. Hes a journeyman QB who lead the league in interceptions and you think he is way better?
I agree with that list but I like Sam Bradford. I think he could be good he's really young and developing too.
Last season, Sanchez ranked 23rd in passer rating, 22nd in yards per game, 27th in yards per attempt, 28th in completion percentage, 5th in interceptions, and 1st in fumbles lost. Thus far this year, he is 30th in passer rating, 26th in yards per game, 29th in yards per attempt, 32nd in completion percentage, 10th in interceptions, and tied for 15th in fumbles lost -- although it's too early for fumbles lost to matter, since only a handful of players have lost more than one and a ton of players have lost one. "Average": I do not think it means what you think it means.
Yeah, he'd be great -- he sulks and cries in Charlotte with 2-3 media folks around him, what's he gonna do when 20 NY'ers are bombarding him with questions after a loss ???
I would take a QB that plays his ass off during the game and sulks during the pressor over a QB that sulks during the game and then is clueless in the pressor.
Mark had very little starting experience in college and came out a year early. Fitzpatrick has sat on benches for a long time. Mark has more NFL starts but Fitz has been around for another 4 years.
