Oh believe me, I'm only 20. My mother would have been 7 the last time the Jets won. It's slightly depressing, but I see no reason to give up. Even with Holmes potentially out, I'm not upset. Lord knows that guy was starting to become a prima donna or something.
I re-watched the SF game just to make sure I'm not crazy, and I'll repeat what I said on Sunday night ... that game was MUCH closer than the final score. Things spiraled out of control thanks to Holmes, but prior to that idiotic flip, that game was hard fought ... and we were in good position to make it at least 17-3 with a quarter left. Not where you want to be ... but miles away from a blowout. Holme literally HANDED them the murder weapon, and then all they had to do was pin thier ears back and play pass defense against a team with no #1wr, no #2wr, and no TE. The worst defense in football could look like the 85 Bears in that situation ... and they're probably the BEST defense in football. I expect this Texan game to go down to the final possession.
Can't understand anyone picking Houston. The 49ers game was just the Jets lulling them into a false sense of security. The Jets have them right where they want them. I'll now stop drinking heavily and go back to reality.
Actually it was less close than the final score. Kaepernick graciously slid at the 1 yard line to avoid running up the score on what was a sure TD. The score should have been 41-0.
"Trap" my ASS. The title of this thread should be: "Who's ready for ANOTHER Jets ass beatdown"? Nice optimistic thread. Now how about getting your butt back into REALITY???
fuck, the jets were somewhat driving at the end of the half to make it at worst a 7-3 game and getting the ball first to start the 2nd half, and then bammo! a reversal of fortune and it ended up 10-0 instead. the 49ers hadn't found their full game yet, and unfortunately the jets never found theirs. it wasn't out of control for a long time.
I already know the reality of the situation? on paper, in everybodies mind, the game is already over, fuck that, they're 2-0 in the division and it has happened before, teams have found themselves, even when there's not much to find, and in this case, as much as there is to find and correct, there's the chance of improvement, and they are at home. Reality is boring as all fuck.
betting wise, i'd take 10 at home everytime. currently it's at 7.5 and over 41. i think 41 is a low number for this game, if the jets get blown out the texans could come close to covering that 41 by themselves, and if the jets hang tight with them, then i would think it definitely would go over 41. Jets 23- Texans 21
Ohhhhhhhh...the Jets are at HOME!! GREAT POINT!! Oh, by the way...I guess you didn't see the 49er game....AT HOME!! Ok...head OUT of the clouds time....Good boy!
HELL YEAH!! Finally, someone looking at this in an optimistic approach. We are 2-0 in the division right now. The San Fran game was, in my mind, a fluke and one game against a top 3 team in the league. Everything fell apart and we were left out to dry. Same thing that happened in New England, and we bounced right back. I have no doubt in my mind we can pull this one off. Especially it being at home and the bye coming up. Holmes may be out, but I can guarantee you, these other guys are going to step it up and try and win a starting job. Fuck all this, "we suck", "end of season", bullshit. We are tied for first fuckin place right now! This season is FAAARRRR from over. Far from it. OP, I'm with ya man! I never gave up on this team before, and I won't now. Bleed green and white baby!
That would have to mean: 1. The scouting departments are equally talented. 2. GMs are equally talented 3. Coaches are equally talented. That by itself defies the logic of how some team can consistently stay as the doormat of the conference. It's not even remotely true. Jets are NOT at competing level with the top of the franchises.
If we caught them off gaurd, played to our absolute apex, and got lucky bounces we would still lose by 10 or more. its going to be as bad or worse then san fran. not only do they have an equal run game and defensive pressure, but they have an all world wideout texans 56-13
Monday is Canadian thanksgiving. I'm gonna be turkey full and scotched up ready for the Jets to come out swinging and shock the world. Let's do this.
Are we going to magically run the football? Forget Sanchez. The fact that the Jets can't run is the dagger and the fact that Revis is out is the nail in the coffin. This season is doomed. Of course, I hope I am wrong.
i choose the clouds, it's alot more fun than wallowing in annoying headache everything sucks mode. try it, you might like it. if you don't think i don't know the severity of the jets situation, you're out of your mind then. it's going to take not only their best game, but some bounces and alot of luck on top of that, and a letdown on the part of the texans, enough reality for you? good boy!
