With Bill Polian out there it may be time to get rid of Tanny and get a real talent evaluator in here. But....Woody loves his "yes man"
Bill Polian was fired for a reason. Peyton Manning carried the Colts to dynasty status, but did you see the talent of the supporting cast outside manning?
woody is too cheap and power-hungry to hire polihan. besides, he doesn't have the scratch. too many unsold psl s and game tickets. there were an awful lot of red jerseys in the stands today. plus, lot of empty seats after the 3rd quarter.
how many trips did polihan make to the super bowl? with 3 teams! how many trips does woody/tanny have? NONE!
Woody is going to have to make some drastic moves in the Front Office very soon or get accustomed to looking at all those fans disguised as empty seats.
Yea but thats not fair, Players like Peyton come around every 100 years,He's the smartest QB mentally that ever lived. A first ballot hall of famer. We don't have a Peyton nobody will ever have a player of his calibur again. Luck will never be Peyton
The only problem with Polian is that he would want to bring his son in too like he did in Indy and his son is an idiot.
Woody Johnson is in it for the money, not the trophy. The fucker thinks he's cool owning a team. He doesn't give a shit about the fans. Tannenbaum is a numbers geek and thinks he's a smart GM.
I can't imagine what more it could take to justify firing Tannenbaum. So, so many personnel moves made recently make zero sense. How the hell do you give up a 4th round draft pick for Tim Tebow when you're dangerously thin at O-Line, RB and WR? You make a commitment to your lousy QB with a contract extension but then put no quality players around him to set him up for success? Ryan may be part of the problem but I honestly don't even think it's fair to assess his coaching because the talent is just so bad.
Polian, Parcells or Wolf IF any of them would come out of retirement to do it. The Jets need to tear down this whole mess of an organization and start fresh with a new GM/Head of Football Operations who knows football and these 3 candidates all fit the bill. Then bring Jon Gruden or Bill Cowher in here and we're in business.
he didn't have peyton in buffalo or carolina. firing tanneybum now would send a message to the coaching staff ( oc, lb, and qb coaches) as well as the players. so would benching sanchez and starting mcelroy. do your talking on the field with your play! otherwise, shut up.
Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Mathis, Freeney, Addai, Bob Sanders (good when healthy) Jeff Saturday, Edgerrin James, Dallas Clark, Gary Brackett etc etc
Its time to stop with the OJT phase of Woody's overall plan. No more first timers hoping to catch lightning in a bottle as that doesn't really work for us. If doing the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity, then Woody Johnson is indeed insane (Edwards, Mangini, Ryan) are proof of that. Time to do the hard math regarding this team and where its headed. Right now, its to a place none of us long time fans really wants to go as we've already been there several times over the decades.
Addai had 1 or 2 good seasons. Sanders was never healthy. Revis, Mangold, Brick, Harris, Cromartie, Keller, T. Jones, Richardson, Faneca. Argument goes both ways. Lets not act like we've never had good players here.
