This kid is way out of his depth as a starting CB...his celebration after the qb overthrows despite him being beaten a yard and a half are amazing!!

Kid is beaten at line of scrimmage everytime and has no closing speed.

    Another wasted 1st rd pick

Agreed. He's been doing it all game and the receiver has been beating him every time.

I see Wilson as more of a safety than a cornerback. He's more of a run stopper and safety type than a cover guy.

He's too slow to be lined up on the outside, he's pretty good on the slot tho. And I agree he could be possibly used at Safety.

    Wilson's just not starting material.
As valuable as he is in nickel and dime defenses, - he's not worth the 1st round pick we used on him.
Those picks are reserved for full-time starters.

Going to be a long season with this guy starring at the backs of receivers. He's good in the nickel, try another guy out there.

From a previous post of mine. He is consistently beat at the line of scrimmage. My summation is exactly WHY he shouldn't have been on the outside.

My take when we drafted him is that he is a cover 2 corner. He is pretty good when the play is in front of him but he's not good in man coverage which begs the question why did we draft him considering we play predominantly man coverage.

The tapes of this game are gonna be out there. Numerous times Kyle Wilson was beat but the ball was overthrown ... not a big deal for Niners because they still destroyed the Jets. Texans are definitely checking out those tapes & ready to pounce on Kyle if he's playing outside next week.

The funny thing is..before Wilson was drafted by the Jets, all the TGG draftniks, (and you know who you are), wanted the Jets to pick him.

Don't get me wrong, I saw some tape of the kid and I thought he'd work out.
    But he hasn't.

Crabtree, who isn't a speedster, by no mean, was killing him.
No way the Jets can afford to expose him to Andre Johnson. That would be a slaughter.

i posted last year about his lack of ability and people said give him a chance, hes getting better. i know this position, i played i, i coach it, my sons plays it. his hips are too tight and he waits too long to turn and run. i still cant believe they drafted him, he did he have to face in the conference he came from?

Kyle Wilson actions today was embarrassing. He looked so stupid out there smack talking, when he was getting beat all day.

He's been doing that since his rookie year. He'll get beat and bailed out by a poor pass or uncalled pass interference, then smack talk like he did something.

I wouldn't go as far as saying he lacks ability. He's just a poor fit for this scheme. I posted the following back in September 2010 when someone tried to compare his rookie struggles to Revis's; it still holds true:

I think Wilson would look a lot better playing for Cover 2 teams like Tampa, Chicago, Indy, Detroit...etc.
