    Bills it is this week.

Yet, I believe Pats will win the game and be 12-4 when season ends.

    Oh God I hate them.

100% rooting for the Bills. Bills are still the Bills until they prove to me otherwise. Spiller could be the difference maker that takes them to another level, but he's hurt right now.

Great timing for him to be probably out... If Spiller doesn't play, bet New England. If Spiller plays, it should be a good game.

Sounds like Fred Jackson might return this week. Quick return from the injury. That will be a big help, but Spiller is the better running back and the better playmaker.

Last year we started off great and ended terribly because our players died on the field. That also happened 1 time back in 2008.

    In 2010 we started 0-8, ended 4-4.
    In 2009 we started 3-5, ended 3-5.
    In 2007 we started 4-4, ended 3-5.
    In 2006 we started 3-5, ended 4-4.
    In 2005 we started 3-5, ended 2-6.
    In 2004 we started 3-5, ended 6-2.

That's 2 times out of how many where the Bills "started off strong and faded down the stretch."

Want to explain to me how that = the Bills "typically" fade down the stretch?

I rooted for the Pats to beat Baltimore this past Sunday. If I were a Jets fan, I'd be be rooting for the Pats against the Bills. Here's why:

To all of you on here wanting the Bills to win, do you believe the Patriots will not win the division by the end of the year? If you legitimately think the division is up for grabs, then yes, root for the Bills.

However, I do not think it is up for grabs. I see the Patriots winning, and the Jets and Bills looking to grab a wildcard spot. Because of this, I want all teams in contention for the wild card to lose (Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, possibly Tennessee, and I cant make sense of the south).

If you ultimately think the Pats are going to win the division, then it doesnt matter how many games they win. You want them to beat the teams in wild card contention. The Bills are your competition for the wild card, not the Patriots (unless you actually think you can win the division). You should want the Bills, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals etc to lose at all costs.

The Pats are much more likely to sustain success than the Bills throughout the remainder of this season. Go Bills.

I'll be rooting for the Bills, because you always root for bad teams to beat the good teams in your division.

If a race of vicious alien invaders came down to earth and challenged the Patriots to a game of football with the fate of the earth in the balance I would be cheering inside for the Volgan Barbarians of Beetleguese 7.

people said the same thing about 2 in a row but the PATS have now done that 2 years in a row. Anything is possible and the Bills played them hard last year.

Yes, the division is very much up for grabs this year, and yes the Pats are human. They can drop 3 in a row. This ain't the same team that they've been. Stop treating them like royalty. What's crazy this year is that either the Packers will be 1-3 or the Saints will be 0-4 come this weekend.

2/4 years. So recently, 50% of the time they fade. Pretty high especially considering the most recent one was last year.

Rooting for the Bills. The Patriots don't lose often. Need to rack up the losses. The Bills will pick up losses as they are more flawed than the Pats

This makes perfect sense. However, there is still hope that the Pats may not win the division. Particularly if the Bills actually win this weekend. How many times have we seen a team expected to be good start out slowly and not be able to quite recover before the season ends? If memory serves, the Pats haven't lost 3 games in a row in about 6 years. So putting that on them will rock their confidence, especially if their offense continues to not be as dominant as it has in the past. That defense is better, but certainly not amazing, and it has a lot of young guys on it that could fold to the pressure of the first 3 game losing streak in more than a half-decade. Thats why I am rooting for the Bills.

Now that said, if the Pats blow the doors off the Bills, I won't be upset because I do expect the Pats to ultimately win the division, so an additional loss for the bills isn't a bad thing either for us.

I mostly agree, with the exception being your argument about if the Pats lose they wont recover. If the Bills do manage to win this Sunday (which IMO is highly unlikely without Jackson or Spiller) and the Patriots go 1-3, I still think they will win the division. They are certainly capable of running of wins in 10 games in row, or something similar.

I dont think anything will shake their confidence as long as Brady is the QB and BB is the coach. They have enough veterans that they're not going to mail it in after 4 games.

I don't think they will mail it in either. But it's not like a team having a poor start hasn't caused a downwards spiral effect in their mentality before.

On top of it, the pats are playing Peyton Manning and the Broncos the following week, followed by @Seattle then home to the Jets.

Manning could easily beat Brady, I don't think anyone would be that surprised if it happened. @Seattle is a fucking nightmare for anybody right now. Even though they shouldn't have beaten the Packers, they held them to 12 points. They dismantled Dallas a couple weeks previous. They are an excellent team at home. As for the Jets coming to town, the Pats are our big brother that we just can't seem to beat when it matters (save for the playoff game in 10, which was easily the biggest game between the 2 teams in the Rex era) with the Pats possibly reeling, the Jets could jump at the chance to cut off their heads.

If they lose to the Bills, it is not inconceivable they could lose 2 of those next 3 games making the Pats 2-5. They aren't coming back from that to win the division. Especially with an @ Jets, San Fran and Houston back to back matchups still to come later in the season

Thats why the Bills beating the Pats really makes the division an open race, and I want to see it happen more than anything this weekend.
