Worried yet? He's done very little 19 games into his career. Jets drafted well at the start if Mr. T's reign.. not lately though

Worried? He's been our best DLmen so far. He's not supposed to be a high sack guy, geez.

Are you serious he's a beast... best defensive player next to revis. According to profootballfocus.Com he's the best 3-4 de against the run and leads all 3-4 des in stops (defensive plays that results in offensive failure) with 11. As of now he's the second rated 3-4 de behind jj watt. Dudes a beast just because he doesn't have sacks doesn't mean he's a bust!

We got top 15 value at #30, Wilk is fine if he had a good OLB behind him he'd be even better

He's probably the best defensive draft pick of the Ryan era. Probably 2nd or 3rd behind Sanchez and maybe Greene.

Behind Pouha, he's clearly our 2nd best defensive lineman, and he's 22 years old.

    But sure, complain.

These 3-4 Linemen won't have beefed up stats and won't have much sacks. There job is to stop the run and create space for the OLB's. Wilk has been good.

you guys are getting it confused because he's not getting "sacks"

he's been EXCELLENT getting pressures/stops in the run, has been solid getting pass rush as well.

22 years old, has a world of potential,

They're expecting him to JJ Watt when he Coples is more of a JJ Watt type 3-4 DE

With Revis out Rex won't have the luxury of playing the run 70% of the snaps.

Look for at least one D-lineman to go for the kill every snap, even on first downs. It'll be fun to watch.

    sorry typing all day hurts

They're expecting Wilk to be a Watt type 3-4 DE when Coples is more of a Watt type 3-4 DE

Wilk is great at stopping the run. Don't go by sacks to measure how good a d-lineman is. Some guys are pass rushers, others are run stoppers, and others are waste of human space.

OP should stick to the BS Forum and more important stuff , like the upcoming election.

I don't think the Jets view Quinton Coples as a 3-4 DE. I think they feel Coples is strictly a 4-3 DE (maybe also an interior lineman in some situations). If the Jets thought Coples could be a 3-4 DE, I think he'd be out there more often.

Many on this board interpret lack of flash to mean not good.

you really need to consider our scheme and what is expected from our front within that scheme. As I just noted in another thread, expect the role of our D Line to change without Revis. We are going to be looking to generate pressure from the front rather than go 3 - 4 and blitz LB's constantly.
