Shannon Sharpe is NOT a likable analyst by any measure. He is "fumble mouthed" and his analysis of players or games leaves a lot to be desired.

So I was surprised when he opened his mouth not once but twice on the half time telecast of the jets' game and interrupted Marino during the highlights.

As Marino showed the highlight of the Tebow faked punt (in a quick montage showing how the Jets got their first score) dumb ass Sharpe interjects " That was CBS trying to keep Tim Tebow relevant" it was an odd comment but all the haters (Boomer and the gang) started whoopping it up and laughing !

James Brown was also laughing like a fucking idiot and saying "Shannon you are so hard" when Marino finishes and the highlights are over (way after) horse tooth Sharpe AGAIN makes a comment " can you believe that CBS showed a highlight of a stupid Tebow 3 yard run ?"

I know that Sharpe was virtually anally raped on live television by Tebow last year when he predicted time , and time again that Denver could not possibly win with him at QB no matter what would happen in a game , so much so that he made a bet( that he lost) and actually and had to wear a freaking Tebow jersey on national TV. But trying to throw CBS and Tebow under the bus when they are showing a legitimate highlight from a forgetful first half was an extreme and personal low blow.

hey Sharpe act like a hall of famer and not a butt hurt clown next week!

And that's what happens when you come to NY and on one of the most disliked (but secretly liked) teams by the media. There is no logic or reasoning, you spew out one liners or completely wrong stuff but as long as it's bashing the Jets its A ok.

I would have argued against it last year if you told me the same thing but I am realizing it is actually true..wow... I hope the jets go 13-0 the rest of the year.

Yeah people think Jets fans are whining for no reason. We are whining, but there's reason to do so. Imagine if Rex grabbed a ref like that? Or imagine if a Jet tweeted out the refs need to go back to foot locker?

Week 1 was a perfect example. All week was the Bills are going to be the Jets. Here are the new look Bills. Preseason Jets are terrible. THe Jets win handedly and all of sudden it's, Jets were supposed to win that game. Jets should have won that game, it's the home opener etc etc

You guys are kidding me, right? Tebow will be criticized no matter where he goes. It has nothing to do with the Jets.

It has a lot to do with the Jets. You wonder how Tebow went from being loved to being a joke so quickly in the media? What changed? He isn't a starting QB, not really joke worthy. He is now on the Jets, joke worthy.

One of the reasons the jokes are piling on Tebow now is because he is a Jet. That's simple. Just compare the stories. Nobody is yelling for him to start, everyone is laughing at him/the Jets

And me Cowboysfan rarely agree on anything for what it's worth.

I personally think Sharpe's hilarious because he's a clown and hard to understand but he is not a fan of the Jets due to his Ravens and Broncos slurping.

Shannon has turned the hate up on Tebow because he left Denver...that's pretty much it. He plays favorites when it comes to those two teams.

You must have missed his first two years in Denver.

I don't see how Sharpe can question the decision to show the fake punt -- it was the first time they've direct snapped to Tebow as punt protector, he got the first down, they scored, it was a close game. That's a relevant, news worthy clip by any standard.

Tebow isn't loved by the media. lol. Don't confuse excess media coverage with love. They cover him because he moves the ratings needle. I don't think most of the NFL commentators are even Tebow fans. They cover him because they're getting paid to.

It is a bit of a joke that the media has stooped to playing highlights of Tebow on special teams.

Ding ding ding... the media loves the Jets when they are winning because we usually give them stories but when the team is a disaster they love climbing aboard. It's multiplied when you factor in the barely making the playoffs Giants winning the SB and love or hate one of the biggest names in the league coming to the Jets to "push" QB Mark Sanchez.

Sharpe is an idiot and has always been a guy to hate on the Jets but regardless of what he says that play turned the momentum around and got the Jets back into the game.

You are really going to say the criticism he received in his first two years in Denver has been equal to what he has received since March? Are you being serious now? It's different in NY where your own beat writers call your own players druggies (That's directed at you Cimini. You can be fair without being negative) and take shots at them and then when Giants beat writers like poking fun at the Jets too.

He was more loved in the media then and now. That's a fact

I like Sharpe, actually. He's pretty funny. I like watching a lot of analysts on TV that dislike Tebow. I never miss a day of Stephen A. Smith on First Take. I don't always agree with him, but the back and forth between him and Skip Bayless is entertaining TV.

Yeah. Like the Jets "backed into the playoffs" by losing in Week 16 but when Pitt lost in Week 15 and clinched they played so well to build up a playoff spot before the season ended. It's obvious to most Jets fan the media wants to see us fail. It gives them more stories.

The Jets media coverage is self-inflicted. Rex Ryan makes statements, promises, and predictions. This focuses media on him and the team. He's flamboyant as well. Then you have all the outspoken players on the team who usually aren't saying something positive. Let's stop pretending like there's some bias against the Jets. The Jets give the media exactly what they want, and in some ways, I think that Ryan and the players enjoy it.

This goes back to the pre-Ryan days with the Jets. Same Ole Jets wasn't invented by Jet fans. I think if the Jets played in another city...say outside of Dallas, Boston, Philly or DC whatever they said would not be a story. However in NY every little move is magnified. I'm not doubting Ryan likes the attention but now that the team is in a spin I don't think he loves it as much as he does when things are peachy.

Being the less succesful of the 2 NYC teams comes with a price, for example Lawrence Taylor might be one of the most disgusting human beings ever to play in the NFL but he in large part is treated like royalty by most in the NY media yet Mark Gastineau who played at the same time is made a villian for doing less then half of the things Taylor did.

This explains it then. If Skip and Stephen don't make you want to throw your remote at your TV, good for you. You have high tolerance for people who know nothing and yell. Skip admitted to not watching basketball games but critquing players off box scores, but then saying you can't use box scores because they don't show the whole game. the whole game he never watched.

Stephen A Smith is a decent reporter/beat writer since he has connections with a lot of platers. He is a decent personality, and when asked to not be his persona he created, he is insightful. Skip is just a troll. 99% of the people on the board could talk circles around him like Cuban did. The only thing I give him credit for is when he's wrong he doubles down on it and sticks with it. He doesn't flip flop, he's just always wrong.

As Barry explained, it went before Rex. The Jets definitely should be covered, they talk (not as much as the media makes you believe) but that doesn't mean everything has to be negative. Remember the whole the thing before the Patriots playoff game? The media thinks the Jets are talking like that before every game. That was out of the norm for the Jets to speak that much.

Also, Rex as always, praises the other team endlessly. He was gushing about Tannehill before they played him. Did you see any of those headlines? The Jets attract attention, that doesn't mean all the attention should be negative.

To this day I find myself amazed every time I see Sharp figured out how to get to the studio on Sunday.
