Not really, he sucked today, but Mark Sanchez pulled a Tebow and was clutch after playing 3 quarters of awful football.
Not really a fan of tebow, but I believe they did a direct snap to him that lead to a score. Also caused a time out called. So a little but yes I would say.
As long as they refuse to let him show a threat to pass and they let the D tee off with three spies on the edge, he will continue to look pedestrian in the "tebowcat" package.
um they dont "let" the d tee off... they know he cant pass so they stack the box. thats on Tebow not rex and sporano
That was a designed run. Where was the recover he could throw to. I'm sure he was not given the option to throw. Wouldn't be surprised if he was explicitly told not to. He was just a RB in that play. He has not had a single play called with even an option to pass. He's not a great passer but with ZERO threat to throw, he's not a grey runner either
there were certainly instance where he should have been used. that one run in the red zone where he was stopped kinda sucked though. he'll have a breakout game soon enough though.
I'm no Tebow hater (or fan) but I think he's been borderline useless. I mean, take away the fact that he's Tebow and people already are crazy about him and looks at his contributions: they are absolutely minimal at best. If he had a season like this last year instead of the season that he did have nobody would even know his name.
On a site that seems to be world class in asinine statements, this one is waaaaay up on the list. Congrats man, its not everyday someone stands out here. My official answer is "If my grandmother had 3 wheels she would be a tricycle"
It's actually funny. I could take or leave Tebow - but Marv Albert any time Tebow came on the field would mention his name and so many isolation cams on him on the sidelines. What other player ever got that much attention for doing so little? Jordan on the Washington Wizards maybe?
He fucking ruined several drives, especially in the redzones. If you're about to get sacked, throw the fucking ball. One of his fuckups forced Sanchez to throw for the endzone resulting in that INT
I wouldn't say ruined NJJ -> but it was kind of how Tippi Hedrin was on the above the title scroll for the movie "Birdemic - Shock and Terrror" yet she was only in it on video. A whole lot of nothin' and trying to keep the weird clan that follows him (and our owner if the rumors are true) happy.
Also had a first down on the fake that led to 3 points...in an overtime game I am guessing every point is important. As far as "ruining drives" that is a wild exaggeration. Stop making silly excuses. That throw was on Sanchez not Tebow.
Yes, he shows value. He did well in his PP role and shows why he it is helpful he can get a first down. I think he played well in the sets where he was a TE/WR. It caused a couple timeouts. He has to be ready for passes, but I mean he hasn't played the position before. He should have thrown it away in the RZ. Can't lose yards there. Can anyone total the stats of Sanchez after Tebowcat plays combining week 1/2? I think he had two throws. Wasn't a fan of Tebow in the Tebowcat. Thought he made the wrong read 2/3 times.
The Jets/Fish game was one of the best sand lot football game I've ever seen. Definately not Pro. That was some ugly shit. The whole first quarter Rex and Mark looked like someone stole their candy, all droop headed and sad puppy eyes. (Where's the passion). As far as Tim's value is concerned, Tim's contribution was as good as the other Jets generally, not bad, not good but some of us know Tim's not being used correctly. The Jets had FEW good passes, a FEW good catches (very unSEC like, except for Vandy). It's hard to name a player that was close to high performance in that game except Landry. That play Landry layed wood at the line of scrimmage was cool and his pick 6 rocked. The O line hung in there OK and the D did enough. We got the W. Go Jets!
