    1. I've learned I can't get too up or down over these games because the Jets will disappoint and underperform when they shouldn't.

    2. 1 player does not make a d-line

    3. Yes.

I thought it was when we gave up 28pts to the Bills...

The Jets lost to a team that was 12-4 last year on the road in their home opener without Revis and the sky is suddenly falling. Unbelievable. Miami will get worked and then everyone will be happy again saying 15-1.

Holy shit dude, the whole premise of your first post was to say "If we win, it's still a loss to me because I don't get the answers to these pressing questions I have since the Dolphins suck so bad". Therefore, you have 0% excitement for this game. Read it. That's what you said.

Here is my opinion in reply to your thread,

    (1) A win should never be considered a loss under any circumstances. Ever.
    (2) If you have 0% excitement about this game, perhaps you should refrain from making threads here, as that implies some level of excitement that is greater than 0%, and do something else that provides you with a little excitement, like fishing.
    (3) Don't underestimate the Dolphins.

Right, but where do I say I prefer answers over wins?

If the Jets win, it would not be satisfying for me that doesn't mean I don't want them to.

Here is my opinion to your response.

The main forum has been dead. There is room for this line of discourse.

Telling someone to not post here because you don't share the same opinion is an argument failure on your end as you are lazy.

The Main Keys in this game are the Jet lines, Offensive and Defensive.

Miami's two biggest strengths are their Front 7 and their running game. Just because Miami isn't on tv a lot and some of us don't watch them frequently doesn't mean they should be taken lightly, especially the defense.

Paul Soliai, Randy Starks, and Cameron Wake are above average to very good players and not only clog up running lanes but also can get pressure up front. Wake is a very good outside pass rusher, and Soliai in particular really impressed me with all the disruption he caused against Oakland, really made Carson uncomfortable. Mangold should be up to the task, but something to keep an eye on. Their ILB's are also good players in Dansby and Burnett.

We've got to take advantage of their secondary, that is their weakness on the D. Sean Smith is a decent corner but probably shouldn't be the #1, and their second corner Marshall I believe is banged up(?), Fin fans if you can confirm that? I don't know much about their safeties honestly, can't really comment.

On the Offense, I believe our D should be able to contain them but I like what I see in Tannehill, I think he will turn out pretty good, made some impressive throws, although the Raider corners were embarassing to watch.

Their Running game is what worries me, Bush is a freak athlete in the similar mold of a Spiller-type who gave us trouble Week 1. I also like their younger back from the U Lamar Miller, seems to be another scat back from what I've seen.

I think it is a pretty close game, but I do see the Jets having a good chance, with Sanchez having a pretty decent game, as long as the O-line can contain their front 7 and give Mark time.

I'm pumped. I hate the Dolfag organization more than any other in the league. Fuck them so much.

It doesn't matter to me whether they are good or not I still want the Jets to destroy them. When they are bad I just want the Jets to beat them by even more points.

We all hate the Patriots and Jills of course but the Dolfags have been and always will be number 1 on the hit list.

I hope the Jets roll these little girls on sunday!!

So what do you want to see from the secondary and LBs and what will show you an answer to that? I'd like to see an example to show you know what you are talking about because I can promise you anyone in the game who takes it seriously would never discount a performance in a given week just because of who the opponent is. The fact that you say the Dolphins receivers are weak is ridiculous. They're professional football players in the NFL with a professional playcaller.

This guy knows what he's talking about. Nice to see someone post AFTER they've learned something about the topic.

Why run when you can pass against that secondary?

Your heart is made of coal. You play the games to win. That's the whole point, not to assess.

Even though I'm still in a major funk after that shitshow on Sunday I'm sure I'll be amped once the game starts - the Pitt game was a hard fuckin pill to swallow.

That said, this team has a hell of a lot to prove on Sunday. As someone else pointed out, Bush is a quick, shifty back who can get to the edge and as we all saw against Buffalo when our D got totally gashed by Spiller, the Jets D does not do well against speedy guys who can run to the outside. I'm curious to see whether Rex can scheme something to compensate for the extreme lack of speed in our LBs. That's what scares me the most about this game. If Bush rips our D like Spiller did, Tannehill won't have to have a great performance in order for them to put up points.

Anyone who has followed the Jets for any significant amount of time knows that no game is ever a gimme for this team, especially against Miami.

Yeah,i'm used to going 16-0 too. I really never thought we would lose a game this year, especially to a good team in their house.

I under=stand what you mean about it not really being a measuring stick game, but nothing wrong with a good win down at our southern vacation home.

And the beat goes on on TGG. Can the threads get any more ridiculous than they have been this week?

I do think people are underrating the difference of home and road games. This is no gimme. It would be a brutal loss, but Miami had a pulse last week, and September games in that humidity are always tough.

We're only 3 point favorites for a reason.
