This defense used to bend and not break. Now its like stiff trees in a hurricane. Im gettitng tired of Rex lying. He says he believes in what he says, BS! I dont even trust the commercials he makes now, he needs to start losing those endorsement deals if this D/team doesnt step up.

The defense was holding together fine until they got gased for being on the field the ENTIRE second half. We were also without Darrelle Fucking Revis

That is not true, they had serious problems with roeth from the get go. Don't think it has anything to do with rex's commercials however.

My take is that rex has stafted poorly during his tenure. Not disastrous by any means but none of his high picks has really been a success. (not necessarily rex's doing). This put a strain on what he can do. If Sanchez, Wilson, Wilkerson, Greene would have/will turn out to a top-5 , we are in a different place all of a sudden. This is magnified by the strategy of few but high picks.

Maybe if they got a stop on third down at some point they'd get a breather.

"Bend but don't break" describes something different. That is a defense that can be moved on but hunkers down on the goal line and forces a FG. Rex defenses have not been "bend but don't break". They have been schematic brilliance or out schemed.

No one every pulled off the Jets' use of Revis in 2009; they forced every opponent to see Revis' receiver as the best possible option under a heavy blitz and Revis outperformed. In the playoffs Peyton figured that out with the spread where there were more options in the blitz than Revis. In 2010, the Jets reversed course, and rather than blitz, they dropped into coverage later in the season. In 2011, they no longer had a trick up their sleeve.

The Jets are good against the run because they can stack 8 in the box and leave their CBs in man coverage. When they face a spread offense, they still attempt to stack the box leaving CBs and Safeties in man, but they didn't have the depth to cover the spread. AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE NATURAL PASS RUSHER TO TURN THE TABLE. Its not Rex by any means, its the lack of a natural pass rusher and the suckiness of Calvin Pace, Bryan Thomas, perhaps Bart Scott, etc, etc.

The scheme was fine, but you can't expect to do well on defense when you miss tackles in the backfield every other play. Roethlisberger is hard to bring down, but not THAT hard. Make just a couple of those tackles, and the offense can get on the field and try to regain rhythm. The drive leading to the final touchdown was unbelievable.

The scheme and playcalling on Defense was fine. Missed sacks, missed tackling, and blown coverage is what killed us. A few penalties too. Our players were put in a position to succeed and they just blew it.

That's a good point. Not that the coaching staff should get excused for the poor individual plays, but if Landry/Harris finished their open shots at Roethlisberger, and if Cro didn't get completely lost in coverage on Wallace, then we'd be viewing the gameplan in an entirely different light.

NE has 20 TEs and signs Winslow, yet we don't even kick the tires on him?

I am half expecting Rex to say, whether asked about it or not, that he has the best TEs in the league.

Any defense that played as long as the Jets did that game would start to lag near the end. Of course nothing was perfect, but just wait until the dolphins game. I love Rex, seems to have a great personality and love for his team. I actually wish he talked more sh*t like he used to!

Rex is and always has been an unwatchable embarrassment to the organization. Yes, he had tremendous early success. And thats why he gets last year and this year and prolly next year. But personally, I can't stand him. I hitnk he's a fuckin buffoon. I hitnk hes a horrible game day coach and I DEFINTIELY feel like no one plays for this guy like they claim to.

Its a fuckin country club. Its embarrassing.

Do the people who used to get hard-ons when Rex had a presser coming up still react that way? Who can possibly stand to hear this cunt talk?

The guarantees, the fuckin snack, the foot fetish, the flipping the bird....blah blah. Getme an NFL professional football coach.

Him. Rex. Not the games. He's a loud mouth asshole. Theres no denying that. If he was the Bills coach or Dolphins coach etc, you would HATE the sight of his face immediately.

I doubt it, but then again I've always seen sports as an entertainment industry. I've never understood or respected the Greggggggg Easterbrook types who are obsessed with upright appearances.

Of course, winning is the most entertaining thing that there is. But if you're going to go down, you might as well have fun doing it.
