Randy Lange makes a really good point. Sanchez first 5 quarters of the season is 23-32 for 346 yards, 4 TD's and 1 Int. Then he gets hit in the head and goes 6-22 for 58 yards.

If you were Mark Sanchez would you admit you were hurting with Tebow standing on the sidelines?

So if Sanchez sucks, who do you want to bring in? Do you want to draft someone new, and wait 3-5 years until he plays like a stud quarterback? Don't tell me Griffin or Luck is a star yet, they've played 2 games. I think both will be, but Sanchez looked good after 2 games, too.

But then you would bitch and moan from minute one he struggled, as you demonstrate in your first post.

So do you want to get a crappy veteran in here, and hope to catch lightning in the bottle?

    Some Jets fans...

It's easy to bitch and moan about Sanchez, it's another thing to actually watch the game and figure out what is wrong. And while Mark wasn't great, his receivers left a ton of plays on the field.

I feel like fans have their own narrative of what they want to see, and whatever happens during a game, they try to fit into that narrative, whether it makes sense or not.

Sanchez still may or may not be the answer. He's certainly not elite. But he doesn't have a lot of help with talent around him, especially when they can't make any tough plays for the receiver.

Look how many tough catches Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace and Heath Miller made. Brown makes leaping catches, gets drilled and still holds on. Anything that touches Miller's fingertips is a catch. Wallace makes jumping catches, gets his feet in on the sideline, and makes plays for his quarterback.

Jets receivers never do that. They're either open, then they'll make the play, or they're covered tightly, in which case they RARELY help out the quarterback.

Hell no, especially considering Revis wasn't even able to play this week with a concussion. Still wondering if there's something to this hit.

the extreme apologists are just as bad as the people who say nothing when he plays well then take the opportunity to bash their own QB relentlessly when he doesnt have a good game.

    Good fan you are.

    oh yeah GTFO

That was a tough hit. Mark was not the same after that. He definitely made some catchable throws, but he didn't seem quite the same. I know I wouldn't admit hurting when Tebow is on the sideline.

Nobody said Sanchez played great yesterday. The "Sanchez apologist" have a valid reason behind Sanchez' pedestrian stats from yesterday. However, Sanchez didn't have a bad game either. He missed a few plays, but every QB does that. When he made some plays, his receivers simply dropped some perfectly thrown passes. How does that make us "Sanchez apologist"?

He looked great first two drives and the whole unit just went to shit. Yes, he made quite a few poor throws but he plenty of good ones that were dropped by our whiny bitch #1 receiver.

This thread is stupid. I think pretty much everyone agrees that this is Sanchez's "show me" year. Last I checked there are 16 games in a season. If you're going to shove the guy down the drain can you at least give the guy a full season under a decent OC? He was really good in game 1, and he was really mediocre in game 2 (but no INT). I'll reserver my judgement until the end of the year, but IMO this loss isn't on him

this place is always bat shit after a loss but ever since the end of the season last year its just getting plan retarded.

said it before...most of this fan base doesnt have the resolve or balls to stick with one group long enough to develop a winner. For fucks sake...we had back to back AFCCG apperances and people on here where honestly talking about booting Ryan after last year.

So what...? SAy we go 8-8? Boot Sanchez...Tanny and Ryan? Start from scratch with a new QB? And when he doesnt throw for 5000 yds and 50TD year 2 you can come on here and create the same thread.

2009 and 2010 the window was there and we missed it. So in 2011 and 2012 you have to step back and try to some what rebuild. Fill in the pieces...Still remain competative of course but holy shit take it easy its one fucking game.

If we blow the FIns game this week this place is going nuclear. Plus why is it the same cocks who start this shit are the ones who get all pissy when the media does the same dopey shit.

Explain to me what Sanchez needs to do? Did he drop the passes yesterday? Did he muff a punt? Did he just decide to walk out of the fucking end zone to go get a hotdog rather than cover Wallace? Was he whiffing on tackles or commiting asshole penalties.

The entire team sucked a stiff one yesterday.

Not that you care, but here's one Phin fan's take on Sanchez. Been saying the same thing for three years to my Jet-fan friend/neighbor:

He's not great by any means, but he doesn't suck by any means either. For the most part, he's your textbook average QB. Added to this, though, the kid has a bit of clutch in him, as evidenced mostly in '09 and '10, but not so much last year (see Week 17, Miami). The clutch part allowed him to get the job done his first two years, even though he's really average most of the game.

Where does that leave the Jet fan? I can tell you if he were a Dolphin since '09 and had similar success/failures, it would likely be very frustrating. On one hand, he can tease you with a great game, but then throws two big picks the next week. He'll lead the team to like 12 straight quarters w/out a TD, but then lead you almost to the SB as in '10, coming back from way down early against Pittsburgh. But at this point, what do you do - do you simply hope he gets better (like Eli), or cut bait and move on?

Based on what I read here, it appears none of you really know which way is best. My "advice" would be to wait out the year and see what happens. If he improves, and leads you to the playoffs again, and with a 10-plus win season, he just might be a long-term keeper. But if it's 8-8 or worse, you may want to consider another option (maybe a trade up for Barkley?). Even still, there are worse options out there even next year if you go 8-8 or worse this year, but I'm guessing you want more, eh!

Now, as a Dolphin fan, I hope he flops, and you have to rebuild, but as a football fan, simply looking at it from an unbiased POV, I would think the kid has enough to succeed if you truly surrounded him with more talent at RB and WR. If you're defense stays similar to what it is now, that just might be enough.

    Who is "us"?

There are reasons for his pedestrian stats yesterday just as there were reasons for his nice stats 2 weeks ago.

Fact is, 1 good week 1 bad week.

LOL. Where were you after the Bills win? Funny how all the darksiders didn't even post last week, but surprise surprise, after the first loss the flood gates have been opened, and here come all the people who thrive off negativity. Your post has 0 analysis, 0 opinion, nothing. Just another weak ass post calling people who like to discuss football "apologists". Get over yourself. Nobody cares about your wack ass posts. I should have just kept you on ignore, but against my better judgement I read it. Ug.
