I think you guys just ran into a pissed off team after they lost to Denver last week. Hopefully we meet again this season. Go kick some Patriot ass this year.
I hate it when our fans do this. Someone comes here and makes a classy post and a Jets fan does this. Please don't root for the Jets if you're going to act like trash. There are other teams that will gladly take you. I hear Philly would be an ideal fit.... As for OP poster: thanks. For some reason it seems like Steelers have our number in recent years (maybe longer, I just don't recall at the moment). Hopefully we can turn that around, but as long as the Steelers are going to beat us can you at least ori use to stick it to the rest of the AFCE? Thank you in advance.
Your team definitely won the intimidaation game. The Jets had their legs under them until both teams started taking cheap shots and the Jets backed off when they realized the Steelers were better at it. Here's to the Steelers spending more $$ on fines than they do on charity donations in 2012.
Always the class act SC96. Thanks for the good wishes and yeah, if we do anything this year, it will take a good amount of luck especially with our deficiencies.
If you're gonna wait until the very last possible second to try and throw the ball away you're going to get hit. Timmons didn't "launch himself" at Sanchez. He just made a football play. The only other hard hit I saw was the Ryan Clark hit on Holmes that jarred the ball loose, but instead of a fumble or incompletion, the refs flagged Ike Taylor for Pass interference when he never even grabbed Holmes during the entire pattern. Football is football, at least it used to be. Nowadays every great hit or play by a defense and you can expect a flag to be thrown. Even worse, many NFL fans have just become accustomed to this flag football style. Damn shame.
Steelers wanted and needed it more. Plain and simple. Hopefully this is a productive loss after the high confidence win against Buffalo and the Jets will rebound from this
I agree on Timmons. I understand why it was called, and it was the right call, but it didn't seem like he was going for Sanchez's head as much as he got caught in a bad position with Sanchez being lower than he expected. Clark hit was clean all the way.
Thanks Steelers played a hell of a game and especially in the 2nd half. Theres a lot of things to blame the Jets for but it wouldn't be giving the Steelers enough credit. Even with all the drops they played really well on Defense.
The Clark hit got me out of my seat immediately. It was a hard punishing hit but I had to see the replay to "See if it was clean". When replay confirmed it, I let out a whoop. Call me a barbarian I guess
I think after Timmons gets the fine for helmet to helmet your rose colored view of that play will change. Cheap helmet to helmet hit and yes he launched with the helmet.......
