they can win next week then go 2-14. that doesn't mean the jets can (or will go) 14-2 or 2-14. winning a divisional game is important regardless of what week they play, so therefore it's a must win, especially a team like the Jets that need to take advantage when they play a beatable team like the Dolphins.
Id say its a must win if this team wants to go to the playoffs. The Jets are flat out better then the Dolphins. They shouldnt lose this game. I want to see them go down their and win in a dominating fashion, this game shouldnt be that close. Rex's defense should eat up a rookie QB like Tannenhill. If this game is within 10 points i'd be a little annoyed even if the Jets win. If we can win this game and get to 2-1 and split the 49ers and Texans games and be 3-2 I think we'll be in a decent spot with the Colts, Pats, and Dolphins coming up after that.
it is a must win for an early season game... i think the jets win, but it wont be a cake walk...bush is exactly the type of rb that will give us problems. basically need to say "hey tannehill, beat us".
The jets could theoretically lose this game and win every single one after that and have a 14-2 record. So no, this is not a must-win Edit: Not saying this is remotely likely to happen- just explaining why it's not MUST win
but then realisitically if the jets go against SF at 1 - 2 with HOU to follow, we are looking at a potentially problematic start.
I understand a win is a win and i'll take a win anyway I can get it. But the point im making is that this game shouldnt be that close. The Jets are the better team they need to go down their and show it. Don't play down to your competition.
Next week isn't a must win... no week 3 game is must win especially with 1 win. The optimist in me says the Jets are 5-1 heading to Foxboro. Miami followed by 3 home games.
the dolphins always plays the jets tough. every game we played against them for the last 4 years, with the exception of the first meeting last year has been close. plus considering that the defense has been gashed by the run up to this point, i say this may be tougher than we originally thought before the season started.
this is exactly my feeling.. this game could be a laugher, but i wouldnt be surprised if its a close one.
Calling any game a "must win" in week 3 is by definition untrue, so yes it's a bit of a stretch. Is it an important win? Absolutely. Does a loss quite possibly spell disaster for us? Sure, probably does. Is it a must win? No, because there are still 13 games to play afterward.
Reggie Bush looks really good too. He can bounce runs to the outside (not good for us), can break tackles (not good), make guys miss (not good), and is fast (very bad).
Jets lose in OT to dolphins next week. Then, lose to 49ers and blow out Texans. I know it sounds crazy but I had a dream.
Fair enough Dolphins-Jets game do always seem to come down to the wire. I just want (like everyone else im sure) to feel good about how the Jets are playing coming out of the game. This defense should feast on Tannehill if we can get ahead early and make him have to throw it to beat us.
