I think he should have played since he said he was fine, but I respect the concussion policy.

With that said, Revis not playing was the difference.

Wilson has gotten abused badly the whole game. He doesn't have the ability to cover guys like Wallace the whole game, he is decent against slot receivers, but he can't tackle and he really isn't that good of a cover corner.

Cromartie benefits so much from safety help over the top. Today he didn't get it because Revis wasn't playing, but when Revis is playing, he completely shuts down one side of the field, therefore safeties can help Cro and he looks better than he is. That is painfully obvious by today's game.

The other CB's after those two are pure shit, not NFL quality. Maybe special teams guys, but they aren't good enough to cover NFL receivers.

I don't know if this thread was just venting or making a good point, but our secondary sucks giant dicks when Revis doesn't play, can we lock this guy up to a big contract? God forbid Revis went down for the season, the Jets would be a four or five win team.

No it wasn't. Fact is, they could not get to Ben at all and it allowed him to make these throws. He had no business throwing that bomb to Wallace

Jets defense was just down right terrible. Especially on third down. The Zone coverage he was forced to play was irritating to watch.

And it didn't help that they couldn't wrap up and kept going high for Ben.

not being to move the ball on offense didnt contribute to our loss? when was the last time a receiver caught a ball this game?

Offense was brutal today, Revis wouldn't have helped there.

They got to Ben plenty, they just try to arm tackle a big huge guy and fail terribly.

The pass rush was horrible, but missing Revis changes the whole dynamic. Revis shuts down the opponents best receiver with no help. That allows the safeties to allow an extra guy to blitz or help another CB with coverage.

This defense suffers without Revis, its painfully obvious. Thats not the only reason we lost, injuries happen to both teams, but Revis the best player in the NFL, I don't see how you can say it wasn't a huge factor.

Its like the Heat losing Lebron James. Some players can't be replaced.

Revis' loss was matched by Harrison & Palomalu

Keller might've been the bigger absence

Wilson wasn't the guy that got punked by Wallace on his TD. And fwiw Revis doesn't usually cover Wallace anyway.

This is probably the worst Jet offensive personnel since the Kotite era.

They still would have lost. Cro would have still been on Wallace. That 3rd and 16 TD pass would have nothing to do with Revis. The defense had a lot of sack opportunities but couldn't tackle big ben. The offense played horrendous after the holmes td.

Take the offensive side of the ball out of the discussion. That long TD Wallace would never have happened if Revis is in the game. We both know Revis isn't going to just get beat on a jump ball like that, we also know that Cromartie would have safety help over the top if Revis was playing. Two guys defending that pass against one is not great odds for Wallace, he probably wouldn't have caught that if there was safety help.

Plus, its obvious where our secondary struggled today. We simply couldn't get off the field on third down. Wilson isn't a #2 corner, and Lankster and the other guy aren't nickel corners. Guys are going to struggle to cover on third down when you ask them to do more than they are capable of.

With that said, Revis isn't going to use magic powers to make our WR's catch the ball or for our pass rushers to tackle. The pass rush wasn't really that bad, we probably should have had three or four sacks, we just couldn't tackle. Sanchez also was horrible with his accuracy today, but we missed Revis, with Revis we wouldn't have given up 27 points. That isn't going to increase our point total, but missing Revis hurt our defense big time today.

Keyshawn-Chrebet-Murrell and even Neil O'Donnell are better than anything on the current team.

To be fair, that TD doesn't happen if Revis plays. Cromartie would have had safety help over the top on that play if Revis played.

Its tupid enough to say " the offense lost the game" or the "defense lost it for us. But to say its bcause of one player being out is so fuckin laughable. If we really cannot win if ONE player is out, then everyone from the GM to coach should be fired.
