yeah, except I'm not wrong, the Jets couldn't run the football out of any formation today. The wildcat was averaging 2 yds a carry more or less, Sanchez was on fire. The bills inability to cover anyone had absolutely nothing to do with Tebow at all, Im not saying that there wont be teams that putting Tebow in is a good idea, but if your qb is throwing 71% complete for 10 ypa you dont sit him. They used Tebow just enough to keep it in the minds of Pittsburg that he is on the team, other than that the wildcat was a waste of downs this week. Next week may be a different story, but if Sanchez is still at 10 YPA he should stay in on 99% of plays

I'm actually with you on this one, not the merchandise thing, but if Sanchez keeps producing the wildcat will not be needed or advisable IMO.

The title is misleading. If sitting Tebow the entire game would deliver a victory against Pittsburgh then it's gotta be done. TEAM.

Sanchez is a lazy, coddled dick and Holmes hates him.

I'm a Tebow fan, but I want to see less of Tebow from this point on unless an unfortunate injury to Sanchez happens. Seeing the way he was used, I guess for him it's more fun than holding a clipboard the whole game and gets him on the field, but I think that the Jets are making a mockery of him. I don't think it's intentional by the Jets to make him look foolish, but with Sanchez thriving as a QB like he did yesterday, it all just seemed like Tebow was a sideshow act. Embarrassing to have him out there like that on punt protection and special teams.

Just use Tebow in his special packages and get him off special teams.

We will agree to disagree on this one, everything positve that happened for the Jets offense is the sum of all plays run. What if the breathers Sanchez got actually settled him down? Or gave him more time to analyze an upcoming play? If Tebow being in for 8 plays helped the team out then great, keep doing it.

It makes no sense to change anything going into next week.

Tebow is not feeling sorry for himself and was thrilled the team got the win. If he is not bothered by it neither should you.

Although he looked good mostly all the time. Find it hard to keep this idea of pulling the best QB off the field. Especially when its not working (like today).

Yeah, agree to disagree, but I think Tebow should be bothered by it and should be very careful about what this does to his already fragile QB image. People have been calling for him to switch positions for a long time now. If that's the route he wants to go, cool... but I think this does more to add fuel to that argument than if he was just holding the clipboard. He needs to be very careful. It doesn't hurt the Jets, but it hurts his chances of being a QB again. Especially since the Jets and Sanchez looked fine without him on offense yesterday, I don't think it's worth the damage to his brand. Just let Sanchez do his thing and if he goes down, be ready. I'm not liking this special teams B.S. at all.

    Really ?

Hmmmm. Let's look at the evidence, shall we ?

1st and 10 at NYJ 30 (Shotgun) Direct snap to T.Tebow. J.McKnight right end to NYJ 33 for 3 yards (M.Williams).
    2nd and 7 at NYJ 33 M.Sanchez pass short right to J.Cumberland to NYJ 44 for 11 yards (N.Barnett).

1st and 10 at BUF 37 (Shotgun) Direct snap to T.Tebow. B.Powell left end to BUF 33 for 4 yards (G.Wilson).
2nd and 6 at BUF 33 M.Sanchez pass incomplete short right to S.Holmes.

1st and 10 at BUF 16 (Shotgun) Direct snap to T.Tebow. T.Tebow left tackle to BUF 12 for 4 yards (C.Kelsay).
2nd and 6 at BUF 12 M.Sanchez pass short right to J.Kerley for 12 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

    1st and 10 at BUF 36 (Shotgun) Direct snap to T.Tebow. T.Tebow right tackle to BUF 33 for 3 yards (Sp.Johnson; J.Byrd).
    End of Period
    2nd Quarter Play by Play
2nd and 7 at BUF 33 M.Sanchez pass deep left to S.Hill for 33 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

2nd and 6 at BUF 12 (Shotgun) T.Tebow left tackle to BUF 12 for no gain (Ky.Williams; N.Barnett).
3rd and 6 at BUF 12 (Shotgun) M.Sanchez pass short right to J.Kerley ran ob at BUF 7 for 5 yards. New York Jets challenged the first down ruling, and the play was Upheld. (Timeout #2.)

Those are all the pass plays Sanchez had immediately after Tebow was in at QB. Looks to me like Sanchez was 4 of 5 for an avg of 12.2 ypa with 2 TDs.

Got any other fairly tales that you wish to spread ?

Hmm, he recovered an onside kick today, and if we had to punt more than twice today, he might have converted on a fake.

Tebow's "brand" will be fine. It's a long season and there will be opportunities for him to make some contributions, and yes, even as a QB.

Recovering an onside kick is cool and all... I saw it. Converting on fakes is also cool. I just think the Jets have other guys to do these things and I'd like to see Tebow being used and groomed to be a QB.

I could have sworn that you were here following the Jets all through OTAs and TC. Did you miss all the 2nd team snaps that Tebow got ? And even some first team snaps ? Did you notice how many snaps McElroy and Sims got ?

Right at the start of this journey, Sparano said that his goal was to continue developing Tebow as a QB, and that is what has been done.

Only difference between Tebow and the #2 QBs on every other team is that in addition to what they did in camp and the preseason, Tebow has additional duties that have him contributing to the team, instead of standing on the sideline holding a clipboard.

Now, if they had moved him down to 3rd/4th on the depth chart and had given McElroy all those 2nd team snaps, I'd agree with you. But that isn't what happened.

Yeah, I've been here and initially I liked it all. Seeing it in action, though... It seemed like exploitation.

 Fair enough. Think that view will change as Tebow is asked to do more in the WC and Sparano goes deeper down the rabbit hole.

I stand corrected, although missing Holmes for what would have been a walk in TD and throwing high on a wide open Kerley in the flat to make it 4th and 1 instead of 1st and 10 were two of his worst throws.

If you nitwits are genuinely concerned with Tebow's "brand" you have no call at all to complain that the Jets are forcing him into the the game with gimmicks. If its really all about moving the merchandise, you can't complain with the Jets giving him whatever looks they can.

I thought the "brand" comment was stupid. Don't attribute every post you don't like to every person you don't like -- look for the best in people. Lumping all your worst impressions and memories together and hurling them at a whole group -- that's an innate tendency that humans have and it's not one of our most commendable traits.

People who are here just for Tebow, sure I expect you guys want more Tebow.. because ultimately its about your boy and not so much the Jets.

But If you are a Jets fan, how after that game we just saw, can you possibly say you want more Tebow?? Sanchez was on fire, he never should've came out of the game...

About the only thing that DIDN'T work offensively was the Tebow package. Sure, its probably not going to be like this every week, but until Sanchez cools off there's no reason to take him out, even for a play or two. Sanchez his whole career has been the type of QB that is best when he's in a rhythm, I wouldn't mess with that.

Also, if they are going to play Sanchez/Tebow at the same time, that's fine but in that scenario stick with Sanchez behind center and Tebow in the backfield or at TE/WR. I actually thought that was a good look. That is the formation that could trick the defense. Tebow at QB and Sanchez split out wide is stupid because Sanchez isn't going to do anything at all as a WR, it's like playing 10 vs. 11 and right away tells the defense its a run...

I don't mind Tebow coming in as WildCat QB occasionally IF the offense is sputtering (yesterday it wasnt!) to try to get a tough first down or something but if so take Sanchez out and put a better athlete in there at WR to keep the defense honest.
