no hard feelings the guy is just a shitty player. glad hes gone. wouldnt have cared if he stayed buried in the depth chart in case of total emergency either.

Totally reasonable. I think he might've actually been complimenting the fans if you want to put it in perspective.

although, he did have a hand in creating the mess surrounding the jets this season with the on field fighting with holmes, so, theres that.

To be honest, I felt sorry for the guy. I think he did give his best effort, it just wasn't good enough. He never should have been left out there alone with no help.

Hey, as I have posted before at RT his play went down the crapper. Yet, there is no denying for the most part, the guy handled a very tough situation with class. An his closing remarks on this episode of his displays this once again.

This fan appreciates all that he did do and respects him for his effort. I wish the guy nothing but good luck and hope he can turn his career around with the Rams, of course I hope he sucks when we play them this season.

Hunter took a lot of grief that should have gone to the front office. He was like a lightning rod and there was a heckuva thunderstorm hanging over the Jets every down he played at RT.

We wanted you to do your fucking job, the same of every fan of every team in the league. Enjoy the warm embrace of St. Louisians after you allow Bradford to be knocked on his ass repeatedly.

I just got back from London - I know we made the trade with St. Louis for the underachieving Tackle Jason Smith. Sounds good to me!

Obviously the move had to be well-received here. What was the verdict regarding the right tackle position, and how has Smith looked in practice so far? Will he start and play, or just back-up?

How happy should I be about this?

    Go Jets

What would Wayne Hunter know about playing well? One good game in bad conditions for the OLB in December 2010? Please. Good riddance.

That's a true statement. He got way too much hate. He's not a starting RT, and I think he knew that from the get-go. If anyone should of been blamed it really should of been Tanny for not addressing the position.

Tanny and Sanchez deserve more of the blame for Hunter than Hunter himself.

St Louis fans are sure to enjoy watching him be thrown bodily to the ground by pass rushers 40 lbs lighter than him. Bye bye Hawaii guy.

Sorry, I see no perspective where that is intended to be a compliment to the fans. He is pretty explicitly saying that he liked his teammates and coaches, and hated the fans.

His tipping a play during the goal line stand @PIT in '10 will be burned into my memory forever.

I guess it's a compliment in the same way a sailor on the Indianapolis might have complimented the sharks on the efficiency of their attacks. :eek:hmy:

As you noted in the other thread about this, it's hard to know exactly how much is the fans, and how much is the media sensationalizing what the fans are actually thinking. Certainly message boards like this give an unbelievably warped impression of what most fans think - the vast majority of fans are far less intense than the people here, and even most of the diehard fans are less critical than some of the people here. If Hunter's life was made miserable by his unpopularity on TGG, he was just very foolish to take it so seriously.

The media is VERY adept at making the screaming minority sound like the thunder of the pagan gods. The problem is the screaming minority has a lot of truth behind it... not absolute truth, but much more educated than your typical fan.

I know a guy whose a pretty diehard fan... rooted for the Jets his entire life and never listens to any perspective than his own... he was PISSED that the Jets didn't draft Vince Young, and the only thing that pisses him off more is that the Jets refuse to sign him now that he's available. In his mind, Vince Young is the answer to all Jets problems...

My point in that aside is that you'll never find fans like THAT in the screaming minority. The screaming minority often is wrong, but there's a LOT of sense and a touch of truth to what they're screaming about and the media knows exactly how to harnass that into a weapon of mass newspaper sales.

once again, the media BS spins the shit out of this. Hunter didn't say good riddance. He simply said that the NY market is a demanding place and it's NOW NOW NOW. He was stating his observation. He never said "good riddance".

The media has just got to stop this horseshit its incredibly unprofessional.
