Better than me still doesn't make him an NFL QB, just the same as, having a few stats the same as Sanchez doesn't make him as good as Sanchez. Its more telling of the Jets offensive struggles overall.

Saw this interesting graphic. I believe Sanchez has more passing yards and Tebow has more running yards and first downs (also includes a kneel down drive by Tebow)." Said you.

So you had no point after all? Oh ok.

    Probably referencing the bold.

I was actually going to address the bold also to clarify. Oh and you know the graphic that started this article comparing Sanchez/Tebow as equals. Then the thread underneath this one currently comparing Tebow to 5 other QBs. The the part I bolded. But yeah, arguing with themselves. It's like the Tebow fans who think people "hate" Tebow. People just don't think he is currently a good QB or will become one, that doesn't mean they hate him. Like I don't think Eric Smith is a good cover safety, I don't want him to start, I don't think he should start, I get frustrated with him a lot, but I think he has value on ST and hope he excels there and can step up in a pinch when Landry gets hurt while we transition to Allen/Bush helping out

Hmmm, let's try it this way then.

He was drafted by an NFL team as an NFL QB.
He took over as starter in both 2010 and 2011 as an NFL QB.
He took Denver to the playoffs and gained a victory over the defending AFC Champs as an NFL QB.
He was traded to the NY Jets, who said that he was their #2 NFL QB.
He's listed on the Jets depth chart as an NFL QB.

Looks pretty clear to anyone capable of rational thought that he's an NFL QB.

    finish what I wrote LOL...

I think the QB performances have had a lot to do with the type of offense Sparano is running in pre season. I am not quite sure that the jets offense can just "turn it on" when the season starts and this pre season vanilla strategy might back fire.

comparing them after 15 drives does not mean I think Tebow is better than Sanchez, it does mean however that Tony Morano is the same idiot that drove Miami into the ground (mostly for thinking he can unleash some hidden offense in a week). It is also obvious s how defensive and bias you are against anything with Tebow in it.

Oh I guess then your mistake was posting this in the Tebowmania section. Mods please move this thread immediately as it is really about the Jets offense in general and not some Tebowian 3 card monty game.

    (1) and (2) caused those Denver decision makers to be fired.

    (3) He did so running a college offense with a good defense and game plan.

    (4) and (5) He is going to be used as a punt protecter and gadget guy.

The Denver decision makers got fired because Denver was 3-10. Nobody gets fired over one draft pick in the same year the guy got drafted. Matter of fact, when Tebow took over at the end of his rookie season it was a love fest for Tebow.

The offense they ran was ridiculous and did not play to Tebow's strengths.

He is the #2 QB. Most #2 QBs don't even see the field. Regardless of whether he does other things, he is still taking over if Sanchez goes down or plays poorly. Using him as a punt protector and wildcat QB is just extra gravy and value for the Jets.

Umm, those "decision makers" in 2011 were John Fox, the current head coach, and John Elway, the current head of football operations.

Did I miss the ESPN report that mentioned their firing ??

    2) Bwahahha, good game plan ? McCoy came up with exactly 2 good game plans all year, the first game against the Pats, and the game against the Steelers. Go back and look at the other games. The "game plan" and the play calling sucked.

    (4) and (5) Umm, perhaps you should tell Rex Ryan that then.

Yeah, I saw that coming but didn't care to edit. Those decision makers just traded Tebow away for very little to correct what they thought got the previous group fired.

As Backup stated, the firing was due to the overall record for the most part, not because of drafting Tebow.

My points still stand. Whether you like it or not, and whether you agree with it or not, Tim Tebow has been, and still is an NFL QB.

Now, you want to say that he's not currently a starter, not a "franchise QB", or not an "elite QB", you would be correct, at this time anyways :)

The game is close you need a clutch player Tebow doe snot fold under pressure he handles it well hence Tebow time. Getting to that point is the tricky part IMHO Tebow has not proven he can carry a team or even manage a game. The defense had to keep the opposition to some meager totals for Tebow to have a chance for that last drive.

Streaks come and go and that is just what that was a streak not brilliant performances hence he has not proved he can win consistently in this league. I dont think Sanchez has also and he has won a heck of lot more games than Tebow. He has proven he can handle the game time pressure.

Favre on the other hand a proven winner in the league I do not think he was very clutch and he would not be my first choice to lead a final drive to win a game. I would much rather have Favre than Tebow as the QB of my team.

Come on Cowboy fan you bait and bait and then play both sides. And the idiot I am start posting then can't stop not sure what that says about me.

Nothing I post will change the minds of Tebow fans they dont want an honest debate they want us to say how great Tebow is and throw ridiculous stats. The instead of debates the merits of a game or a performance it becomes us against them with both sides going to extremes.

The facts are the facts Tebow has struggled this pre season as a passer looks great as a runner. IMHO Sanchez has not looked good or bad the play calling seemed so conservative we could not really tell. I thought he looked much better the final pre season game.

What this preseason has showed me about Sanchez/Tebow is that Tebow can help this team on all those short yardage plays we ran up the gut and could not convert. I think Tebow will not only convert them but also produce a few big plays off of them.

Sanchez biggest problem is costly mistakes to many picks and we won't know if he has improved until he plays a full game.

I am done talking in circles about Tebow unless of course I cant sleep. :)

Tebow never plays his best in preseason or practices. It's so obvious it isn't even funny.

I think most people would take Favre in his prime over most QBs in history. Favre is a first ballot HOF.

That defense was not as special in Denver as you say. If Tebow was lucky, then the defense was lucky coming up with those plays.

If he is 9-7 as a starter, how has he not proven he can win?

My God we agree (except first paragraph , I have been consistent in that I like both Sanchez and Tebow) it is the 8th sign of the apocalypse!
