"div rd" means divisional round of the PLAYOFFs Einstein! You know where he led his team to 10 pts in a tharshing at NE where Sanchez in the same game a year earlier led his team to a win in the same building over a better pats team.

So the bar that was set for a fullback that can not throw, should not have been drafted, should not have made the team, should not start in the NFL, took over a team that was 7-24 in the previous 31 games (worst in the NFL) , the expectation was superbowl or bust.

    ok got it.

We are comparing him to sanchez, right? both were 1st rd picks, right? why wouldwe judge Tebow any differently?

and he won the worst division in football by leading his team to losses in their final 3 games to win that division w/ an 8-8 record. Played well in a HOME playoff game at Mile High where Den has a huge advantage then was awful at NE.

He's not an NFL QB, he's an NFL player and will help this team win but if Sanchez gets hurt our season is over.

I like Sanchez but if he plays every game and there is no improvement from pre season your season is over also.

Oh and broncos fan also though their season was over last year....

CowboysFan, let's just say last year we got a few fortunate breaks.

    - Onside kick recovered in Miami.
    - Chicago game, Barber going out of bounds, then fumbling. He stays in bounds, game is basically over.
    - Jets game with the gift pick-six.
    - Not playing against the likes of AP, Forte, Cutler, and others.
    - Won 3 games in OT, if they lose one of those games, no one talks about the "greatness" of Tebow.

I wouldn't hold your hopes up that it happens again.

I like the guy, but last year was a very, very memorable season, albeit very lucky. And if he stayed and started, it would of been a trainwreck waiting to happen especially given the schedule.

A LOT OF GAMES end on fumbles and pick 6s , you act like only teams that Tebow faced did these things.

In the Barber game Tebow had 191 yards and a TD in 7 1/2 minutes when they FINALLY went to the spread and Thomas had a TD bomb go through his hands earlier in the game that would have made the rest of the game mute.

So if Thomas catches a pass that went right through his hands there is no barber fumble needed, see I can play that game also.

And the comments that if one of the over time games are lost their is no tebowmania , is absurd, YOU DIDN'T LOSE THOSE GAMES, if I had 3 wheels i would be a tricycle! and no one talks about the "greatness of Tebow" that is a made up hater thing. The TV over covers him and rips him 24/7 except one guy (skip). Jet fans come to this section of the forum all fired up against people that say Tebow is a great QB but no one says that! Then they go back and forth ranting against it themselves when ...again...NO ONE SAID IT

the only thing anyone (Tebow fans) says is he can win games, he can contribute, he has a big upside in his intangibles. That is what we are arguing for .

One last thing, you say you had some fortunate things happen last year...you are right...getting Tebow as the starting QB was fortunate. Denver, as you know, was 7-24 in previous 31 games, the single worst record in the NFL during that span. If Orton stays in , it is very likely you finish 4-12...good luck having Peyton consider going to Denver when they finish 4-12...that did not happen , so yeah your fortunate Orton got benched. It was not only Tebow of course, the defense played well and so did special teams but he was one of the 3 pieces needed for the turn around from worst to playoff win.

Amazing how ungrateful some Broncos fans are. Not only that, they claim to be glad they are rid of him yet follow Tebow to the Jets forums.

No one should take ESPN stat graphics seriously. No matter whom they favor they're generally intended to prove the network right (and not inform).

Intangibles do not make you a great or even good NFL player. Talent makes you a great player Tebow does not have the talent of a QB Tebow has the talent of a running back.

Hmm, so when exactly are we going to see Ryan Leaf and Todd Marinovich inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame ??

BTW. Steve Young disagrees with your opinion, vis a vis Tebow.

He played very well in preseason unlike our #2 QB who was horrible.

The Broncos hadn't had any success w/ orton or any QB in years, we went to TWO championship Games w/ mark in his 3 seasons. It was fun and game sin Denver in a week division, here the expectations are a little higher.

You guys ARE delusional. Tebow is not an NFL QB. He's a gimmick player and nothing more.

come on junc comparing him to Sanchez jets ruins the argument of the greatness of Tebow. To talk about Sanchez's success takes away from what Tebow has done.

Nobody talks about how Sanchez willed his team victory in 2010and he fourth quarter comebacks because it takes away from Tebow. Sanchez fans dont idolize Sanchez they see him for what he is a QB that has had some success but needs to step up his game.

Tebow fans see Tebow as mister intangible if he can just learn how to throw he will be great. How many Qbs learn how to throw in the NFL or are even given a chance with the bad mechanics and inaccuracy of Tebow and the answer is zero.

uneducated football fans like the scrambling QB or running QB because they do not understand the design of plays and the scrambling is exciting but often and most time unwarranted.

missed the point but i am not surprised. Talent alone does not make you great but without the talent you have no chance to be great. Is that better did not think I had to spell it out

Why are people - specifically Tebots - still trying to compare these two QBs, as if there's even something to compare? There is no comparison. None. Zero. Zilch.

Apparently the eye-test, performance, and stats won't convince Tebow supporters that he's nowhere near Sanchez's level.

Elway shipping Tebow out of town won't persuade Tebow supporters.

Joe Namath voiced his displeasure with the acquisition of Tebow.

Boomer Esiason said the Jets should cut Tebow.

    How about other esteemed opinions?

Here's Jerry Rice on The Michael Kay Show praising Sanchez when asked about him, followed by a sigh and a grunt when asked about Tebow: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/newyork/play?id=8308396
    (4:00-5:20)

Here's Joe Montana on First Take saying that Tebow hasn't been able to transition to the NFL as a QB, and therefore, Sanchez shouldn't be concerned about Tebow taking his job: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=8307055
    (40:30-44:30)

What exactly is it going to take for people to stop comparing Tebow and Sanchez?

Sanchez is clearly head-&-shoulders above Tebow as a QB. Tebow is a very good football player who makes plays unconventionally, but that's not what the QB position requires in terms of sustainable, consistent success. Conversely, Sanchez possesses the necessary skills to be a consistently successful QB in the NFL.

It's that simple. This isn't rocket science.

Great post. Don't forget about your kicker though hitting 50+ yarders like they were chip shots. The kicker definitely helped win a couple of those games.

he went 3-4 from 50+, tied for 12th as to number hit and 8 for % hit from the distance. Unfortunately he was dead last in the 40-49 yd range going 3-7, yes he hit 3 long ones, but if he had hit more shorter ones there wouldn't have been the need for the long attempts. PFF has him ranked 14th overall as a fieldgoal kicker. Prater is decent, but is no Janikowski
