I was a big fan of Young at UT but like many college QBs, he just couldn't compete on a professional level. A lot of it seemed to be his lack of focus and initiative to improve. He displayed that a lot at UT but Mack Brown was good about riding his ass and making him do his work. Pro coaches have less incentive to do that and his career shows it. I hope for his sake another team picks him up as a project and he's able to shape up but I find that unlikely.
I dont think I'll ever forget what Vince said after taking his second wonderlic test. He got a 6 on the first, and bumped it up to a 16 on the second. When asked about his improvement, Vince said "I'm just glad I tripled my score." LOL.
Why did this guy end up doing so poorly in the NFL? He has incredibly physical gifts and was an absolute star at Texas. Same thing with Jamarcus Russell. Two guys who should have been amazing NFL players who never panned out.
