I just wanted to document this for review after the season:

    Bucky Brooks
Tim Tebow will eventually take over at quarterback, but his presence will not be enough to salvage a dismal offense that lacks playmakers at the skill positions.
Prediction: 8-8, third in AFC East

    Daniel Jeremiah
Their quarterback situation gets all the attention, but the Jets have big holes in other areas of the roster. The offensive line is a major concern and they are very thin at receiver. The defense is no longer dominant enough to cover up for a mediocre offense.
Prediction: 6-10, third in AFC East

    Adam Schein
You might have heard that the Jets traded for Tim Tebow. As we said after the trade, he will carry the ball 6-20 times via the Wildcat and be successful under new Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano. The Jets' defense will bounce back from last year's collapse and return to form under Rex Ryan.
Prediction: 10-6, second in AFC East

    Steve Wyche
Lack of explosive players on offense plus a suspect offensive line will put too much pressure on the defense. It won't matter who's playing QB.
Prediction: 6-10, third in AFC East

LOL @ weasel-face Wyche. This morning he said the Jets don't have 'the same players on defense that they used to, they cannot depend on the defense'. He may be right in a technical sense a far as the same players, but this defense could end up being the best Jets defense Rex has ever fielded. Good job paying attention, weasel face.

Did any of these people except Schein watch the Jets preseason games. Our defence is IMO way ahead of last years defence and going to be a force to deal with. Lets wait for a few real games before making pretictions on our finale record please. Go Jets

Love Adam Schein. He got his radio start up here in Syracuse at WHEN. But, I have to wonder if his affiliation with the Jets post-game show on SNY influenced his prediction.

He is actually a Giants fan and his first love is baseball. Just a little inside info.

I like Adam, not b/c of this prediction but b/c he is always fair w/ the Jets. despite working for them on the show he bashes when we deserve it and praises when we deserve it.

I was frankly interested in Steve Wyche's prediction. I normally like Schein's contributions to the Jets post game shows on SNY, but this one sounds too optimistic to me. For example at this point it is quite simply nothing other than an article of faith to think that the Jets O will be improved by playing Tebow as often as mentioned. Not much to hang one's hat on, in other words.

Meanwhile Wyche's comments ring truer. I may quibble with the part about not mattering who Qb is, since I do think Sanchez is clearly the better Qb. But it is also true that neither have been able to score TD's. Unless one wants to comfort one's self with the fantasy that the Jets have not really been trying to score TD's, reasonable people should be very worried. There is a lack of skill at various points throughout the offensive roster. This O will not score much.

He's fair with ALL NY sports. As a Mets fan he gives the Mets credit when they deserve it but he has no problem being critical too. You can tell he is being honest and he does not just stick to an agenda. I like Analysts who's opinions change as the year goes on because it shows they are paying attention and know what they are talking about.

if these were written prior to sundays game then i can see where the low expectations lie.
however the defense has been lights out and the offense started moving the ball.that was the first game where holmes and kerley and howard were in the lineup together. this seemed more indicative of what the offense will be then the 2 prior games.this season will be like blackjack.get us close to 21 and 75% of the time it will be a win.

what I dont get it all the people saying our offense will stink because it stinks in the preseason. Then saying our D isn't as good or we don't know what the D will be like because it is only preseason.

I think our Defense is going to make a lot of people eat their words this year about the Jets. We destroyed Cam Newton. Our coverage is still good our safeties are better this year and it finally looks like we have a pass rush.

I for one will withhold any predictions until I see what trots out on the field once the season starts. I have not been very encouraged by what I have seen on the offensive side but the defense has looked good enough to show up and produce by the opening game. I am hoping and suspect there is more to this offense than what we have seen so far.

suprised at all the love from you guys for Schein. He used to piss me off so much on SNY postgames that I had to stop watching. Maybe he's better than he used to be but I used to hate his whiny voice and whiny thoughts.

I don't need Ray Lucas' undying optimism but at least make sense in your criticism.

I am surprised that nobody except Schein mentions the Jets defense. This defense has been a top 5 defense for the last 5 years. This year I am expecting a top 3 defense.

If Sanchez plays just average, we should be able to get 10-6 easily.

The offense has been very vanilla and predictable so far. Yes they have been trying g to score but they are more concerned with evaluating players and changing the mind set to a run first team.

The offense biggest problem is at Wide receiver and that will not change in week one. A lot of rookies struggle with drops Jerry Rice had the drops his rookie year also. I think Hill will be great but it wont be this season he will cost the jets at times as well as come up with some big plays.

Holmes Kerley who knows they have not played much they need to get healthy.

Short yardage will be better than in the preseason with Tebow this is where he will have the biggest impact

"The past says Tim Tebow can win games and the past says Mark Sanchez can not"

Are you serious? Sanchez has won more games as a starting QB in his first three seasons (counting playoffs) than anybody in NFL history except Joe Flacco and Dan Marino. 2 more than Matt Ryan did.

So yeah, Mark Sanchez can't win. You are a fucking moron Heath Evans.

holy shite, i saw this last night. couldn't believe not only how wrong he was on almost every point, but how animated he was in being wrong.
It was almost like how Francessa immediately starts yelling when talking about the Jets. The hate clouds the judgement completely.

The preseason is an absolute indicator of regular season?
Tebow has won more games in this league than Sanchez?
He also called the Jets training camp a 'debacle' on day 2!! nothing had even happened yet..

Oh, Evans has watched plenty of the Jets, but he spends most of his time on that show masturbating the fans of his former teams, the Patriots among them. Which means that he bashes the Jets and antagonizes their fans every single change he gets. There are times when Willie McGinest looks embarrassed sitting next to him doing his Pats homer outine.
