If Sanchez gets hurt and the Jets go 2-14/1-15 whatever it takes to get the 1 pick and Matt Barkley is sitting there with a franchise QB tag I absolutely positively guarantee you they draft Barkley with that 1 pick.

I think the odds are really good that if the Jets have the year they are likely to have this year, somewhere between 6-10 and 8-8, they look to package Darrelle Revis and their first to move up for that 1 pick.

I think it all depends on the offense obviously. This will be a top tier defense in the NFL this year.

The offense would have to be severely inept to win less than 9 games.

But if Sanchez does get injured or shits the bed I could see them trying to bet the farm on Barkley. I dont see them trading Revis though unless this contract situation becomes a mudslinging PR mess this season.

If the OL would actually block I think Sanchez could take the next step. I do think Tanny has done a shitty job of giving him tools to develop ie (WR consistency, OL depth) which makes me feel for the guy.

Even more funny Barkley is a legit blue chip prospect and I could hear all the Jets fans pissing and moaning now making the USC QB comparisons.

I said from day one that we'd be better off without Holmes. Had with dumped Holmes and kept Cotchery and Edwards, we would've won more games last year. We got to the AFCCG twice with Cotch/Edwards.

We got to the AFC championship once with Tone/Edwards/Cotch. Why is he left out of the 2nd trip when he caught 2 game winning touchdowns and a catch leading to a win in DET. Also drew the penalty in the Denver. But yeah let's leave him out of the trip to the 2nd AFC champ game :breakdance:

Terrible thread. I'm not a big fan of Holmes but there's no way he'd benefit from getting Sanchez ousted and having Tebow be his QB. He'd have like 39 catches the whole season.

I'm not buying it the week it happened I could not now.

    He's an effin cancer!

    There!

    He's not injured.

There's no fracture, internal bleeding? I haven't read anyone mention it. Concussion? Same.

It was a good clean hit a normal football play.

So WTH is wrong? Why isn't he practicing or playing?

    Exactly!

While Sanchez is in the fight of his life for the starting qb job with the Jets = hanging him out to dry.

Rex isn't a doctor he thought he saw something he was wrong.

Holmes is going to be the first guy to quit on the season.

ESPN is cool for kids I guess. Other than that, Sanchez is not in any fight for the starting QB job. There's no competition and no controversy inside the Jets organization.

If Sanchez doesn't play waaaaaaay better against the Giants than he did against Cincy and if Tebow shines again I think he'll be in BIG BIG BIG trouble.

I think Sanchez deserves better than for his so called #1 wr/2012 valentine to do this to him but he still has Mangold, D'Brick, Keller, Hill, Greene and co. in there with him he has to show something all the excuses in the world ain't gonna save his job if he doesn't play much better.

I got news for you: Tebow didn't shine in the first game. He actually looked like a terrible NFL QB,

Yeah, he ran a few times and that looked decent. But when he threw the ball he looked just as bad as last season. And he looked bad in a sea of 2nd and 3rd stringers on both sides of the ball. A player who can't look really good when he's playing with backups probably isn't even a backup caliber player.

And that would be true, with or without Holmes. Mark needs to step up his play, whether it's Tebow behind him, or we bring in someone else.

Yup, Edwards and Cotchery's combined 31 catches really would've put us over the top last year

It's hard for me to believe that people don't realize that Holmes had significantly more receptions and yards last year -- in the worst season of his career -- than Braylon and Cotch had combined.

i think holmes should give a call to thomas and decker and see what they think of tebow as a QB before he lets sanchez hang out to dry.

What do you mean tebow shines again? He didn't shine last game. Sanchez is the game 1 starter barring injury

Yes, those combined 400 yards are far greater than Holmes 650. Lets not forget that both of them missed time as well. Your mancrush with them is strong.

Edwards and Cotch are the new fad of loving good role players that left. Now if only we can get back LaMont Jordan, Coles, Ratliff, and Pete Kendall is SB time! Hell Leon Washington is out there as well. Do it Tanny!

Yep, both had weak games, although you could tell they weren't really doing anything but the basics. Tebow had some nice runs but that's pretty much it.
