Bringing in another young QB before the line and receivers are sorted out would be a mistake. I guess if the Jets collapsed and had the 1 pick, which is extremely unlikely, they'd have to take Barkley, but other than that I think there's a lot of work to do before they go get another QB.
You mean those game winning touchdowns by Holmes right? Look, he was pissed off by Hunters performance last season and voiced it, everyone was pissed off by Hunters performance. Shotty was a moron with his play calling, I'm sure it was frustrating for all the plays to suck on every possession. To be honest, I'd rather see that kind of emotion on the field (someone getting pissed off) than everyone just going through the motions. Holmes certainly isn't a choir boy, but he wasn't the reason our season fell apart last year.
Tone is a loudmouth stoner, That being said I don't get the incessant witch hunt to blame all of the offensive woes on him. Talk to mike tannenbaum about that
:chargers: I think it's more of a precaution on the CS part not to risk further injury to their star player in the meaningless pre- season.
I have never been much of a Holmes fan, but I really don't get why people feel the need to play amateur doctor with players' injuries during the preseason. The goal during the preseason is to make sure your team enters the regular season healthy and prepared. There are plenty of player resting with injuries who are physically capable of practicing. It just isn't worth it for the team or the players to be pushing it, as far as their health is concerned, at this point. Unless you are a bubble player trying to make the team, why would you do anything besides let an injury heal 100%?
Holmes was playmaker in 2010, he quite literally made the catches that won the games. Holmes is not the problem, and I don't know why people insist he is. The real problem is that he was our only playmaker on offense last year, and our O-Line as a unit did not produce. I love Nick Mangold as much as the next guy, but we had two very weak parts in the line in Hunter and Slauson, and D'Brick didn't play to his ability all season. When you take Mangold out of those games when he was hurt, that leaves you with 1 single quality lineman: Brandon Moore. People have to accept that our offense was bad across the board, and it was a recipe for a bad year. How can Sanchez stay off the ground when his O-line can't protect him? Especially when he had Burress, who can't get open, Holmes who was always double covered, the senior Derrick Mason, and Dustin Keller. Combine that with the fact that Greene couldn't find his legs for the first half of the season (I still say he was out of shape starting the year because of the lockout) and what do you really expect?
It's worse than that. There is 20 million this year and 11 million next year..you can thank your favorite GM for that. AFTER next year they can cut or trade his as the dead money at that point will only be 2 1/2 mil. http://www.nyjetscap.com/santonioholmes.html
WTF? Somebody PLEASE close this thread. He creates it with no intentional other than to bash Holmes, based on something from 7+ months ago. Talk about misleading. Holmes never quit on the team. He got into an argument in the huddle and was benched. This isn't groundbreaking or even news. This is just someone trying to troll.. again. How much do you wanna bet that he drops the "cancer" word later on in the thread. I usually don't put people on ignore after one bad post but this is close. Take your hate and go back to routing for the Pats or whatever BS team you follow. K thanks bye. Maybe we should make an offiical Holmes hatred pinned thread because there's a new one about him every day made by some jackass discussing the same thing that's been done 1000 times over.
The scrutiny Holmes is going to go through this year is going to be enoumous. There is a preception (warrented or not) that he quit on his team, had communication issues his OC and QB, and was a bit of a cenf centered ass). Again, this is the perception that has been created about Holmes. Now we have this Thread that plays right into the scrutiny Holmes is recieving. I personally dont like the guy and wish we would have went in another direction, even though at the time it seemed to be a good move. It is what it is and Tone is a NYJ for the next two years, at least. I hope the guy stays away from the interview podium (even in victory when he produces) and does not give the media anything to "pounce on". This is somehing Tone has created and needs to deal with it...
They never would. If they have the 1 next year and Barkley doesn't blow it this season they definitely take him. The argument as to whether they don't take him if Sanchez has a good season is moot because the Jets don't have the 1 pick if Sanchez has a good season,
It has nothing to do with one pre-season game. Look at the roster, watch the performance on the filed. This offense is shit. There's no two ways about it. Its been shit. And theres no reason to think its going to get any better this year since we have the same fuckin players. Minus asshole Plax. I suppose the people who think the O is gonna be better think so because Schotty is gone? I guess? Theyre gonna be in for a rude awakening. Our offense blows.
Holmes MIGHT be injured now, though I bet theres dozens of guys who woul dbe playing in teh same condition, but the fact remains, hes a dog. He was lazy in Pitt, he quit on us last year. Wwhy do some of you people defend Holmes to no end? It makes no sense.
very true, many here give Holmes a pass like a pretty girl who has bad breath. She is so beautiful from a-far but when you dive into kiss her a faint smell of poop hits your nose. Now the Jets decided to marry this pretty poop breath girl. We faild to relize that this is the very reason her initial husband divorced her; she kept eating shit. Yes she would brush her teeth from time to time, but that poop breath just keeps rolling. I have had enough; I hope she just keeps her mouth shut so the smell of shit doesnt keep rolling of her tongue. Stand there, look pretty, and stop eating shit Santonia
What if we were to get injured? And the depth suffers even more? They could negotiate with an NFC team - and rob them blind, with multiple firsts and seconds. Lots of potential talent coming out. Gonna be tough to get Sanchez, and Tebow off the books to draft another QB with the first pick.
