I hope Sanchez is less confused than i am. Are we expected Sanchez to have to give up his drives when getting in the rz, or is tebow an option at RB or a gimmick/fake play?

Big difference between red zone and inside the 5.

RB Bilal Powell getting some first-team reps and looking good. #Jets

    Jake Steinberg ‏@Steiny31
Bilal continues to get first team reps.

Haven't heard much positive about Greene, Ganaway or McKnight and it looks like Powell is having a great camp.

Powell NEEDS to have a great camp. Greene - not so much. I'd rather he have fresh legs for the season. We already know what he can do.

Cimini talks about shaky pass protection, doesn't that also mean the front 7 is doing their job?

Mark Sanchez is fine with getting substituted out for Tim Tebow near the goal-line

    BY Manish Mehta

CORTLAND – On a day when Tim Tebow accounted for three touchdowns (2 run, 1 pass) in a live goal-line session, Mark Sanchez made it clear after practice on Thursday that he’s amenable to leaving the game near the goal-line for his backup.

“We got to get it in the end zone. I don’t care,” Sanchez said. “Whatever we have to do -- and Coach Sparano going to be the judge there on what exactly he wants. But if that’s what he wants and if that’s what puts it in the endzone, fine. We’ll drive it 99 yards and he can run it in. It doesn’t matter.”

Sanchez, who was irked when Rex Ryan pulled him for a couple practice snaps last season, said he simply wants the team to succeed.

“It does not matter. We got to win the game,” Sanchez said. “We’re in the business of winning. It’s fine with me.”

Sanchez, who was one of the most efficient passers in the red zone last season,

“It’s bigger than what one person on this team wants,” Sanchez said. “We really are in the business of winning and we have to be selfless, myself included. That’s the most important thing.”

That would negate the benefit Tebow could provide. The whole idea and success of the option is that you have a QB that has to be accounted for either a pass or a run. He has to be accounted for on the field. If he is in as a RB that tells everyone the QB will not run the ball and the defense gains an advantage with one option removed.

@JennyVrentas: Rex says the offense won the black jerseys today. Said Sanchez was taunting Bart, other defenders about getting them. #nyj

The problem is that you read a Rich Cimini article a month or so ago stating matter-of-factly that the Jets would use Tebow in the redzone and since it was cleverly worded, you assumed he meant every time they reach the redzone and every time they reach the redzone, no matter where they are inside the 20.

Take your head out of that box, my friend. Goal line isn't redzone and 'use Tim Tebow in the redzone' doesn't mean 'use Tim Tebow every single time the Jets reach the redzone'.

Tebow is a situational player. People need to get this concept.

i can assure you i am open minded, and i certainly do not take comini articles at face value, but I do not for my life think 'out of the box' is what Sanchez needs.

Interesting that Pat Turner had CB Antonio Cromartie beat in WR drills, but Mark Sanchez overthrew the play.

    James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerESPN
#Jets WR Stephen Hill just beat Cromartie deep in individual drills. I wonder if the WRs are trying to send a subtle message.

#JH Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano tells Tim Tebow his pass into the endzone has "too much air"

    Rich Cimini ‏@RichCimini
TE Josh Baker is having a nice camp. Good feel for getting open underneath. #Jets

    James Walker ‏@JamesWalkerESPN
#Jets LB Bart Scott is trash-talking the offense, even on the sideline. He is right. The defense is winning thus far.

#JH WR Stephen Hill chases down a deep ball from Sanchez.

Hard to disappear when you're the only healthy WR?
