IMO, you have a FO that doesn't understand how important a decent OL is to a successful team, and that's NOT a good thing. They don't invest in it. Bills fans know all about this. Crappy OLs were a big reason that the Bills haven't made the playoffs in a decade plus. Cheer up ... at least Tannenbaum hasn't traded away D'Brick and expected Hunter to play LT -- yet! hmy:
3 current members of this O-line made the pro bowl. All 3 of them have been the backbone of some very successful O-line season performances. To suggest they don't understand the importance is ridiculous. September cannot come soon enough
IMO you are a moronic Bills fan. Have you heard of Nick Mangold, Dabrickshaw Ferguson, Moore, Damien Woody, Alan Faneca, etc? Saying that the Jets don't realize that the line is important is friggin stupid. We've been constantly building and maintaining a decent line. We had one of the top lines for like 3 years straight, so because we didn't draft an OT one year, you think we don't care or understand it?
and Jason Peters was and still is overated (another walking IR player)...I think the FO DOES understand that a good O-line is an intrigal part of a sucessfull offense. Looks at the Jets lines the past 3-5 years; very consistent (even the days before Mangold we had Mawe, and Moore has been the veteran of the line). This year, we really ran into some cap issues that prevented us from picking up a middel of the road or "good" RT (they are just too costly). Yes we could have a Jonathan Scott type for a few Million, but why waste the $ if you are getting a clone of WFH...With that said, we go after a RT hard next year as we had to use our draft on (1-3) on Coples, Hill, Davis (who is gonna be a stud replacement for Scott next year).
god damn. for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in the 21st century, bills fans really do have a lot to say..... on a Jets message board no less.
If the jets don't understand the importance of having a good O-line, what does that say about Buffalo's FO with regard to the QB position?
As a Bills fan I just dont understand the coming over here and doing this crap.....while I think the bills defensive line is going to make us much better we havent played a damn game yet. And yes.....the jets DO know how to form up their O and D lines....that is why they have been manhandleing us and going far into the playoffs.
Hopefully, Sanchez has spent a lot of time in the off season learning how to throw while rolling left.
You're referring to the fact that the Jets had limited cap space and a lot of holes to fill and didn't prioritize an upgrade at RT? And apparently disregarding the fact that this line has devolved from one of the best in the league around '08/'09. Faneca was too old.
Tannenbaum has drafted Brick, Mangold, Slauson and signed Woody and Faneca to the biggest OG contract ever at the time. Yeah, this staff doesn't give a shit about the OL. Smh. Theyve made mistakes with Clarke, Hunter and A Jones. Not every regime gets it right 100% of the time.
Not surprised at all as I had a feeling the Panthers were simply dumping their trash out the back door with this guy. We really didn't need another physically questionable player on the roster anyway. Perhaps Tanny will shy away from Jumbos with knee issues in the future.
What do you have to say about the last 6 Jets rushing performances over the last 3 years against the Jills? Just in case you needed refreshing the yardage figures per game were: 126, 138, 273, 276, 318, 249. Average of 230 yards a game on the ground in the last 3 years. You can go crawl back in your hole now.
this is worrisome cuz the jets know hunter's not up to the task but can't find anything better. yow. is it crazy to think hunter turns it around this year?
