was worth a shot. Fack i'm concerned about RT.
We are now down to just hoping Hunter shows some big time improvement in this new system.

If that was Rex's "plan A" for Mario Williams, what now?

The good news is the Jets understand we at least need someone to compete with Hunter at RT and aren't content to just hope he plays better. Still a long way to go, remember we got Pete Kendall on the waiver wire late in camp one year. A lot of guys will become available for various reasons between now and the first real game.

Why are they giving up so soon? They can at least give it until Week 8 and trade him for scraps if he still isn't healthy.

Wonder if this affects the Panthers' trade for Murphy.

If he can't be healthy after only playing 2 games last season and an entire offseason to prepare I don't think he's worth the roster spot. Even if he is better then Hunter, We don't need more iffy "when healthy" players right now.

  10. This is Frustrating. As much as I believe the Jets can have better O-line play this season w/ Hunter in the line-up..that is not an ideal scenario. Hunter is a back-up linemen. He can spot start a handful of games for you, but he doesn't have the natural skill set/consistency to perform for 16+ games. I'm not sure where things go from here.

Maybe Austin Howard gets a shot? Rex was talking him up after the first padded practice as really moving people off the line & the ability to bend in pass pro. There wouldn't be a better time to make the switch to a new starter w/ the change in scheme/return to ground & pound roots. If he's able to bend in pass pro he should be fine w/ some chip/tight end help. He'd be an upgrade in size/strength. If he can bend in pass pro he can't be any worse than Hunter..no?

Surely you see the logic fail here.

When last season ended, these boards would be in disbelief if we heard WFH is guaranteed starting spot @ tackle without any serious competition. Hopefully the new OC will manage to get one of these TE decent enough to give help blocking on right side of the line.

Welp, I'm sure the Jets will try to sign somebody else. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Kendall was a guard. Compared to OTs, guards are "a dime a dozen".

The terms of the trade said that if Otah couldn't pass the physical within 1 week, he goes back to Carolina.

Does anyone have a list of who may be available at this time,, A RT who is on the bubble from other teams.. I am so pissed off this was not addressed in the draft. What the heck where they thinking WFH played well.. What about the off season moves,, WHY are we waiting for people like Otah to come here and we all knew he would fail. This starts at the top and they will have to answer this one if nothing is done.. Im so pissed... Go Jets

DAMN forgot all about Kareem McKenzine,, Hell,, he was ours at one time. Even an old McKenzine would be better the what we have now. Good Call GMCJets. Hope they start to bring more RT's in cause Im telling you Mario Williams is watching. Go Jets.

All of whom are at least better than Wayne Fucking Hunter.......

  20. Mckenzie was statistically the worst OT in football last season(Hunter was 3rd or 5th from the bottom depending on publication)
