Well, we all know if he said something positive, you wouldn't bother posting it. But if it's negative, it's right up your alley, so obviously it wasn't good. You could just tell us what he said rather than having some sort of weird guessing game about what some analyst says about the team.
Was it about Holmes and Hill or Tebow and Rex. Rex is putting on weight again, isn't he? Fffing cafe Ryan!
He basically said the obvious. No one knows what to expect out of these guys because 3/4 of them have barely played in the NFL. He doesnt see how the Jets passing game improves...based on the unknowns.
"I've never heard of them, so they must be worse than the players I have heard of, even if they are old and slow!"
OK so I am just the messenger but since U claim I only post negative stuff why do you not give me & all us 5 concrete things that the NYJs did so far to overtake the Pats & win the AFCE this season
This isn't necessarily to overtake the Pats, but 5 ways the Jets improved their team... 1. Got faster on offense (offense made ZERO big plays last year, having some speed/size guys on the outside in Schilens and Hill instead of Plaxico and Mason will open up the running game and provide more chunk plays) 2. Brought Tebow in to run Wildcat/push Sanchez (people complained forever about no backup QB to push Sanchez, well, as Jay Glazer said, Tebow is like football ritalin. Plus, Tebow will play the Brad Smith role we missed last year, except he'll throw it more and maybe even be better at it). 3. Improved safety play (Yeremiah Bell is better than any safety we had last season. LaRon Landry is even better, if he somehow stays healthy, safety will be a big improvement for us). 4. Improved play in trenches on defense (Coples, as well as the development of Ellis and Wilkerson will help us get more pressure up the middle). Demario Davis will also provide some more speed up front. 5. Replaced Brian Schottenheimer with Tony Sparano (Schotty ran his course. Sparano fits more of what Rex is looking for in an offense, and with his head coaching experience, it should help Rex get to the next level as a coach, or at the very least have someone more competent in charge of the offense). Are any of these huge changes? No, but all should help the team get better. There are a lot of young players on the team that haven't received an extended chance, maybe one or two of them could make a big impact that we're not expecting at RB, WR or OL. Giants got it with Victor Cruz last year. Remember when Giants fans bitched about Steve Smith being gone? That lasted long.
Exactly Chrebet86 - They are no guarantees in the NFL. Each change that you make is a question mark - some more questionable than others. Every year the average turnover rate for playoff teams in ~50%. Who knows if the Jets will make the playoffs? However, there are things that the Jets did that they believe makes them better than last year. Whether they pan out is a question. Since you asked for 5 things here is a list. However, I'm sure you (and anyone else on this board) can come with ideas that refute this list. Therefore, I'll save you the trouble. List of 5 positive offseason moves - followed by typical naysayer response. 1) Quinten Coples could definitely increase the pass rush. According to many this was an excellent value pick. Response: The guy is lazy and unmotivated. 2) Stephen Hill might be able to help bring the long ball back into the Jets gameplan. Again, according to many he was an excellent value pick. Response: He's too raw and doesn't have experience in a Pro Style offense. 3) Getting rid of Schotty should be a positive for the entire offense. Response: Sporano has no experience as a successful Offensive Co-ordinator. 4) Picking up Dunbar as a defensive line coach is an excellent addition. Response: His success was only because of the talent that the Vikings had. And the Jets don't have that type of talent. 5) Acquiring Tebow will light a fire under Sanchez's ass and he will provide a ton of versatility to the offense. Response: Tebow sucks and if Sanchez can't stand the pressure he doesn't deserve to be a QB in this league.
Posting threads isn't exactly your strong suit. You could at least explain what the guy said and why you agree with it. Every thread you ever post here is negative, and you post no link, not even a quote from the guy. You must really be a Pats fan in disguise or some non sense, because I just don't see how you could possibly think you are contributing with crap like this. Saying the Jets haven't improved at all is beyond stupid at this point. Every team has question marks every year. It's part of the business. Man, those first 2 days of training camp must have sucked for you with all the positive reports and nothing to cry about.
We have two terrible QB's. No weapons around these terrible QB's. A head coach that cant coach. We have no shot at beating the Bills , nevermind the PAts. The Pats run a first class program.
